Thomas James DePasquale

Interim Head Coach & Gold Coach


Tom is a Buffalo native who has swam in the area his entire life. Starting his competitive swimming career at the age of 10, he has finished his college swimming career at Buffalo State College in 2017. At Buffalo State he earned two team records, one in the 200 Butterfly (1.59.8) and the other he was part of the 400 medley relay swimming the butterfly leg (51.8) in the 2017 season. 


Tom coaches a Masters team that he began working with in college and has many years of Red Cross lesson instructing experience. With all of his experiences over the years, Tom is willing to teach anyone who is willing to learn and get better.

Michael R Dugan

Senior Coach & Assistant Coach


Mike has worked with BAAC since 2014. He has previously taught swim lessons and served as a counselor at the University at Buffalo's Swim Camp.


Raised in Schenectady, New York, he grew his love for the sport of swimming while competing for the Albany Starfish and Mohonasen High School. Mike attended the University at Buffalo, competing for the swim team from 2010-2014. During this time, he broke school records in the 50 Free (19.84), 100 Butterfly (47.32), and all three freestyle relays.


Mike earned a degree from UB’s Physics Education graduate program and is currently teaching physics at Lancaster High School.

Emma Leonard

Novice & Bronze Coach


Emma grew up in Durham, Connecticut until her family moved to Horseheads, New York in 2002. She started her swimming career at age 11 when she joined her school team. She spent the early years of her career swimming for her local club team, Horseheads Thrashers Aquatic Club. In high school, she taught swim lessons to the children in her town as well as coaching the novice group for her club team. 

After her high school career ended in 2014, she decided to continue her education at Monroe Community College (MCC) in Rochester, New York. At MCC, she swam for 2 years competing in the 200 backstroke, 200 and 400 IM. After finishing her schooling at MCC, she transferred to Buffalo State College in 2016. She finished her swimming career in 2018, swimming the 100 and 200 backstroke. She is currently working on her Art Therapy major at Buffalo State College.

Aaron Christopher Durrence

Assistant Senior Coach & Silver Coach


Aaron grew up in Johns Creek, Georgia where he competitively swam for Dynamo Swim Club from the time he was 10 until he graduated high school. Upon graduation, Aaron decided to attend the University at Buffalo (UB), and was a sprint freestyler for their swim team from 2013-2017. While at UB, Aaron swam the freestyle leg of the school record breaking 200 Medley Relay.

Aaron graduated from UB in December 2017 with a degree in computer science and a degree in mathematics, and is currently hoping to pursue a career in software engineering or coaching.
