Ruby Carlsruh

Ruby was born and raised in beautiful Salt Lake City, UT. She began swimming competitively at age 6. She came from a “swim family”, with all of her brothers and sisters dedicated to the sport. The family life was dedicated to the swim team, and she spent most of her youth on deck.

Ruby began her swimming career as a sprint freestyler, and then progressed to compete in mid-distance breaststroke and butterfly, taking the podium at the State Championships at the senior level. She was nominated and named 1st team All-State and 2nd team All-American Water Polo player. She trained with the Mountain West Zone water polo team to compete nationally for JO title.

Ruby went on to play water polo at the University of Utah where she also studied Art History. She spent all of her free time hiking, running, and snowboarding in the mountains behind her home. She also taught/coached snowboarding throughout her college career. During her time at the U of U, she coached the Skyline high school water polo team, taking them to the State Championships- placing 2nd. She also coached the Summer League Team that she had swam with every season- from ages 6-17yrs.

Ruby has stayed close to the sport, and in recent years has competed in numerous triathlons, including a half-ironman.  She is also a student of the sport, as someone who loves to keep her nose in books by Sweetenham, Brooks (her childhood coach), and most recently- Coyle. She is an ASCA and USA certified coach and continues to maintain a high level of passion and drive season after season. Her swimmers have seen tremendous success, some going from bronze level to JO in a single season.  Needless to say…she loves swimming and has a deep passion for the sport. She has two children currently on the team and is 100% committed to the teams’ success. She has deep respect for technique and hard work.

Ruby has three children ages 11, 9, and 5. Her two boys and little girl are the lights of her life. They have a passion for life that has inspires her daily. She and her husband Sam are both born and raised Utahns. They moved to Hunterdon County with their three children 5 years ago and immediately fell in love with the area.
