Paulo Madeira has been Head Coach of the Montclair YMCA Dolphins swim team since 2013. Coach Paulo swam on the Montclair Dolphin swim team as a youth. He has been a coach at the Montclair Y since 1993, except for a four year break during which he was Head Coach for the North Jersey Blue Streaks. While at the Bluestreaks, he introduced USA Swimming meets to swimmers and parents, he trained 3 JO winners and 7 Zone qualifiers. In only two years, the team rose to become JCC Swim League champions and went undefeated for the entire season during their JCC dual meet season. He also coached for two years at the Bradford Bath and Tennis Club. Coach Paulo was a NCAA Division III swimmer in the New Jersey Athletic Conference for all four years of college for the Red Hawks at Montclair State University where he majored in computer science and minored in math. Paulo held the 200 yard breaststroke record at Montclair State.
