I have had the pleasure of
coaching for the New Jersey Stingrays since 2009. I spent
my age group and high school years swimming locally in the Hamilton
area and began my professional career in aquatics at the
Hamilton Area YMCA. Since that time, I have been involved in
competitive swimming at the age group and senior level year-round.
Since joining the team in 2009, I've seen it grow substantially in
the New Jersey Swimming community. When I started with the team, we
had a fraction of the swimmers and rarely competed in open
competition. It's been incredibly rewarding to see our swimmers
grow to the point that we are now competing at the national level.
My personal philosophy regarding competitive swimming involves
attention to technical detail, fostering a sense of ownership of
the sport for my swimmers, and consistently striving to keep the
sport fun. In addition to coaching for the Stingrays team, I am
also the head coach of the Community Park Bluefish PASDA swim team
and Aquatics Director for the Princeton Recreation Department.
Outside of the pool I am a Rider University graduate with
a degree in secondary education and history, which I use as a 7th
grade teacher for Hamilton Township.

I was raised in this area and have swam and coached with a few different clubs. I learned to swim at Penn Brook in Pennington, and then started swimming year-round with the Hamilton Aquatics Club. I was a member of the Hopewell Varsity Swim Team all four years of High School, and I had the honor of being captain my Senior Year. For five summers, I was a swim coach at Penn Brook, with 2 of the seasons being the Assistant Head Coach. Outside of Penn Brook I taught swim lessons with the YMCA, and I helped coach Pennington Aquatics in 2010. I swam in college for two years at UNC Greensboro, and now that I have moved back to the area I am very excited to be back in the swimming world and to be coaching the Pennington Stingrays!
