I have had the pleasure of coaching for the New Jersey Stingrays since 2009. I spent my age group and high school years swimming locally in the Hamilton area and began my professional career in aquatics at the Hamilton Area YMCA. Since that time, I have been involved in competitive swimming at the age group and senior level year-round. Since joining the team in 2009, I've seen it grow substantially in the New Jersey Swimming community. When I started with the team, we had a fraction of the swimmers and rarely competed in open competition. It's been incredibly rewarding to see our swimmers grow to the point that we are now competing at the national level. My personal philosophy regarding competitive swimming involves attention to technical detail, fostering a sense of ownership of the sport for my swimmers, and consistently striving to keep the sport fun. In addition to coaching for the Stingrays team, I am also the head coach of the Community Park Bluefish PASDA swim team and Aquatics Director for the Princeton Recreation Department. Outside of the pool I am a Rider University graduate with a degree in secondary education and history, which I use as a 7th grade teacher for Hamilton Township.

I was raised in this area and have swam and coached with a few different clubs. I learned to swim at Penn Brook in Pennington, and then started swimming year-round with the Hamilton Aquatics Club. I was a member of the Hopewell Varsity Swim Team all four years of High School, and I had the honor of being captain my Senior Year. For five summers, I was a swim coach at Penn Brook, with 2 of the seasons being the Assistant Head Coach. Outside of Penn Brook I taught swim lessons with the YMCA, and I helped coach Pennington Aquatics in 2010. I swam in college for two years at UNC Greensboro, and now that I have moved back to the area I am very excited to be back in the swimming world and to be coaching the Pennington Stingrays!

I started my swimming career at the age of 7 on a USS swim team in Rhode Island. I was a  Nationally ranked top ten swimmer during my career first in the 100, 200 free, and 1500 meter Freestyle and the 100 and 200 backstroke. As I got older, I focused more on 100 and 200 Fly and the 400 IM. In High School I was the New England Prep School champion in the 100 Fly and 200 IM 2 years in a row before transfering to a public school. In college I was a Division 1 swimmer at the University of Pennsylvania earning a Varsity Letter all four years. After graduating with a degree in International Relations I coached a USS age group team to State Champions 4 years in a row. I simultaneously coached a high school team with 2 swimmers earning National High School rankings in the 500 Free and 100 fly 2 years in a row. After going back to graduate school and earning an M.Ed in special education, I began my career as a special education teacher with a focus on working with children with autism. During that time, I coached privately working on stroke technique with various age group teams.

I joined the coaching staff at the New Jersey Stingrays in 2014 and have really enjoyed the opportunity to work with my age group swimmers. I look forward to many more successful seasons with Stingrays!
