Britta is also our Head Developmental Coach. She has been coaching since 1999, and has been with TEAM (formally known as EYAC) since 2001. She grew up swimming in Southern CA, and has always had a passion for the sport. She has a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, a master’s degree in Early Childhood Education from Arizona State University and is a Level 3 ASCA Certified coach. Although developmental coaching is her specialty, she also coaches high school swimming for South Eugene HS, and substitute teaches at Thurston Elementary School. She lives in Thurston with her husband Jason, daughter Reese, and son Brody.
Head Senior Group Coach
Scott Kerr- Head Senior Coach, has a long history of successful
swimming and coaching. Scott is a native Oregonian. He graduated
from South Salem High School where he held numerous school swimming
records and was inducted into his high school Hall of Fame in 2011.
After graduating from high school, Scott competed for the Florida
State Seminoles and in 1987 he received his B.S. in Hospitality
Management from Florida International University in Miami. His
coaching history includes 4 years at the Pinecrest School in Ft.
Lauderdale, Florida, 24 years coaching Sheldon high school
swimming, 15 years as Head Coach with the Eugene City Swim Club,
and 9 years as Head Coach with TEAM Eugene Aquatics after ESCS and
the Eugene Y swim team merged in 2009. Scott is an ASCA Level 5
coach and has been part of the USA National Team coaching staff.
Throughout his long career, Scott has qualified athletes for the
Olympic Festival, World Championships (short course and long
course), Goodwill Games, and Olympic Trials. He has coached 13
Senior National Qualifiers and over 60 Junior National Qualifiers.
Scott has been married for 20 years to his wife, Toni, has 2 sons,
a dog, a cat, a bearded dragon, fish if the herons don’t
feast, a rabbit, and 3 chickens. Scott is not currently looking to
rescue more pets.
We will work hard, but more importantly, we will work smart.
Without solid technique, there is a glass ceiling over how much a
swimmer can expect to improve. My coaching mission is to remove
this barrier, so the swimmer can advance as far as their talent and
work ethic will allow. I don’t count the yards, I make our

Denise L McEwen
Denise McEwen grew up in North Canton, Ohio where she began swimming at age 8. She competed most of her youth for her local YMCA and club team and continued to compete throughout high school. In 1999, she continued her passion for swimming by coaching at her former high school and age group swimming programs. Denise also has her Master’s Degree in Education. She was a special needs preschool teacher in Ohio for 12 years. Denise moved to Eugene in August 2015 where she currently resides with her husband John and two sons, Zach and Seth.
Stephanie I Reinwald
Coach Steph grew up in Pittsburgh, PA and started swimming at the
age of 9. She swam for Mt. Lebanon Aqua Club until graduating high
school. Steph attended Edinboro University of Pennsylvania,
where she swam all four years and received her BFA. After college,
Steph started coaching for South Fayette Aqua Club from 2007 -
2012. During this time, she returned to school at Carlow University
to earn her teaching credentials. In 2012, Steph moved to Missoula,
Montana where she continued coaching with Missoula Aquatic Club and
taught K-12 Art. Steph currently lives in Eugene and teaches high
school art and applied technology. She is excited to be coaching
