Brad D Isham
As Head Coach and CEO, Brad Isham oversees the development and
direction of the Cincinnati Marlins, and serves as the National
group lead coach.
Brad brings to the Cincinnati Marlins 20+ years of experience in
coaching competitive swimming at all levels. Prior to the Marlins
Brad was Head Coach at Countryside YMCA in Lebanon, Ohio from
2001-2017. While at Countryside Brad demonstrated success by
winning 2 YMCA Team National Championships and by coaching high
performing swimmers whose achievements included Olympic Trials
Qualifiers, Senior and Junior National Qualifiers, and 94 YMCA
Individual National Champions. Additionally, Brad was named
YMCA National Coach of the Year in 2000, 2005, 2014.
Brad also served as Head Coach for Ursuline Academy (UA) from 2009
- 2017. Under Brad’s leadership, UA won 2 Ohio High School
State Championships and 6 GGCL Conference titles. Brad earned
several High School Coach of the Year honors as Head Coach at UA.
Brad was Head Coach for Kings High School for 6 years prior to
Brad is a native of Canton, Ohio. He attended University
Cincinnati, where he earned a Bachelors Degree in 1995. Brad
and his wife Jocelyn have 2 children.
Jeremy A Wilken
Head Age Group Coach/Keating Blue 2
Coach Jeremy started his career with WTRC in 1995 and took over
as the head age group coach in 1999. After a very long and
successful career at WTRC, Jeremy came to the Marlins. As
head age group coach for the Marlins Jeremy has coached many
swimmers to excellence including multiple junior olympic champions,
sectional, junior nationals, US open and Olympic trial qualifiers
as well as national age group record holders. Coach Jeremy
has a great reputation and repoire with his swimmers and all
members of the team.
Ryan Michael Hammer
Keating Red 2
Coach Ryan joined
the Marlins in 2012, and has been coaching since 1997. My
coaching career began with the Kenwood Swim Club (PPSL) and
continued with the Sycamore Flying Fish until 2012.
Previously I have worked for Hillshire Farm & Sara Lee
Foods until switching to swimming full-time. Ryan has coached
many Junior Olympic champions & qualifier age group swimmers,
and also has assisted with National-level groups.
When not around the
pool, I find myself playing in & organizing wiffleball
tournaments, traveling (recent Italy trip!), and enjoying “do
absolutely nothing” days.
joined the Marlins in the spring of 2017. He was previously an
assistant coach with the Countryside Torpedoes from 2003-2017. From
2003-2007 he was the lead coach for the 11-12 age group and from
2007-2008 the lead coach for the 13-14 age group. He was an
assistant National Group coach from 2004-2017. He was the Head
Coach at Mount Notre Dame High School from 2011-2013. He is
presently a partner in the Lebanon, Ohio law firm of Fowler &
Stueve. Jeff and his wife Jenn have four children.
Dave A Albert
Keating Red 1 / Blue 1 / Masters
Dave Albert swam for the Marlins from 1998-2006. He now
coaches Blue 1, Red 1, and
Masters swimming groups and
the U14 water polo group at the Keating location.
In addition to his responsibilities with the Marlins, Coach Albert
has been on staff with St. Xavier Swimming and Diving since 2009.
Prior to returning to the Marlins, Coach Albert coached for the
Mercy Healthplex Sea Wolves for eight years as both an assistant
coach and head site coach and was the head coach of North Hills
Swim Club for seven seasons. He has served as a travel coach for
the U.S. Paralympic swimming program since 2013.
Coach Albert graduated from Xavier University in 2013 with dual
degrees in Sport Management and Organizational Communication and
recently graduated class of 2016 from Xavier with a Master’s
degree in Education with the focus of Coaching Education and
Andrea R Cornett
Keating Red 3 & 4
Andrea has been working with young swimmers for nearly forty
years, primarily as a swim instructor. She developed her love of
teaching as a high school student at Gamble Nippert YMCA, where she
volunteered in the adaptive aquatics program. This experience
steered her to a career choice in Special Education. After
graduating from the University of Cincinnati and teaching for the
Norwood City Schools & the Mount Campus School, Andrea coached
summer swimmers and continued teaching swim lessons for Gamble
Nippert, Oak Hills Community Program, College of Mount St. Joseph
Once she and her husband, Richard, began having their own
children, they installed a standard sized, two lane pool in their
backyard, complete with starting blocks. It was here that Andrea
ran her own instructional program nine months of the year---five of
those months under an inflatable dome! After twenty years of
backyard lessons, Andrea and her husband moved to Indiana. Her
three children live in three different cities and are visited
frequently by their parents. And yes, she did teach each of them
how to swim!

Sycamore Head Coach/Central Asst
Dr. Dan is an assistant
coach for Blue 1 at Keating. Dan is also the Head Coach of
Sycamore High School. Before coming to the Cincinnati Area
Dan spent 9 years as the Head Coach of Valparaiso University where
he was also a professor of sports physiology. No stranger to
coaching in Ohio, Dr. Dan served time as an assistant coach at The
Ohio State University and Miami University. Dan lives
in Symmes Township with his wife Sarah, daughter Elizabeth, sons
Elliott and Bishop.

Keating Blue 1 Asst
Mimi Strenk will be working with the Blue 1 group at
Central. Before coming to Marlins Central, Mimi was Head Site
Coach at Marlins West where she coached the Gold
group. Prior to coaching for the Marlins, she coached at
OHST for 4 years. Mimi also coached at McAuley High
School for 4 years and was named GGCL Coach of the Year twice.
She also coached at Oak Hills Swim and Racquet
Club. Mimi swam for Gamble Nippert YMCA, Mother of Mercy High
School, and St. Louis University where she swam on
an athletic scholarship.
Development Director/ASCA level 3
Stephen is a native of Knoxville, TN where he grew up
swimming for Pilot Aquatic Club (now Tennessee Aquatics). He has
been coaching for 14 years at all levels of swimming. Prior to
being named the Director of Development he was the site director
and Senior coach at The Princeton location. He came to the Marlins
after coaching for Tennessee Aquatics for six years. While at
Tennessee Aquatics he coached swimmers to ten new team records,
almost 100 top 5 times, over 30 LSC champions, over 100 LSC
qualifiers and 34 age group All-Stars. He has coached two 200+
member summer clubs and guided the Village Green Gators to two
League Titles. As a coach for Bearden High School he had 20
All-American swims, several state champions, a top 40 NISCA
National Dual meet ranking, 4 KISL City Championships and 3
Runner-up finishes at the State Championship. Stephen moved to
Cincinnati with his wife Carly (who is from Kettering
Ohio), daughter Pearl and has two dogs (Piper and
Abigale A Cooper
Abby joined the Marlins
as a swimmer when she was 8 years old and swam for a few of our
current coaches (Mike, Chris and Dr. Dan). After a successful
career with the Marlins, Abby moved on
to Indiana University where she specialized in
breastroke and IM. While at IU, Abby was a NCAA qualifier,
Big Ten Champion, scholar athlete, 2 time team captain, and Olympic
Trial Qualifier. Abby graduated in December, 2009 from IU
with an Elementary Education degree, and is currently a 4th grade
teacher in the area.
Abby started coaching
with the Marlins in the summer of 2009, helping out with the
National and Silver groups at Central. Currently, she is
coaching Gold at Marlins North.
NKU Asst Blue Coach
Becca hails from a small town located east of the Columbus, Ohio
area. She is a graduate of the DAAP program at the University of
Cincinnati, with a degree in Art History as well as a minor in
Anthropology. She started swimming when she was in middle school,
and continued to peruse her love of water sports after that. Becca
has worked as a lifeguard and swim lesson instructor since 2007.
She was a coach for her home town team for two years, and after
college worked as a YMCA Aquatic Coordinator as well as a coach for
their swim team. Now working with the Marlins, Becca is excited to
continue working in the sport she loves!
Dominic F Pecze
NKU Blue 1 & 2 Coach
Dominic joins the Marlins from Lake Shore Swim Club in Cleveland, OH where he was the Head Site Coach at the Mercy site. Previously Dominic was an assistant coach for the Delaware Riptide YMCA in Delaware, OH. A graduate of The Ohio State University with a Bachelor’s in Sport Industries and a business minor, Dominic was a 3 year letter winner and 2 time Academic All Big Ten as a swimmer. During his senior year at Ohio State Dominic served as a student assistant coach for the Buckeyes.
Coach Dom is currently working on his Master’s in Coaching Education through Ohio University. He brings with him to the Marlins enthusiasm for the sport of swimming and coaching experience beyond his 24 years of age. Dominic lives in Northern Kentucky with his beautiful dog Delilah.

Amanda Rose Hardewig
Sycamore Red 1 Coach
Amanda is a graduate and former swimmer from the University of
Cincinnati. As a member of the UC's team she was a scholar athlete,
NCAA National SAAC representative, and finalist in the 200
backstroke all four years. Amanda is entering her second year with
the Marlins and is very excited to be working at Sycamore.
Jessica T Carpenter
Sycamore Red 2 Coach
Jessica has swam since she was nine years old with Greater Columbus Swim Team of Ohio and Dynamo Swim Team. She made high school states all 4 years and was able to experience winning states in the 200 medley relay with 3 of her teammates. Jessica was also apart of a State Runner Up Team in D2 with Bishop Hartley. She was an All State and All American swimmer in the 100 butterfly, 100 backstroke, & 100 freestyle, as well as relays. After high school swimming was over she continued her swimming career at Bowling Green State University for two years. Jessica then transferred to UC to finish her education to get a degree in Early Childhood Education. She has previously helped coach a team in Columbus called Eastmoor Swim Club and coached in Bowling Green with the Bowling Green Swim Club.

Ashley swam for the Marlins from 2003-2009 and her family is still part of the marlin family. Her sister Sarah swims in the senior group at Marlins North. Ashley graduated from Lakota East high school and was a four year letter winner and a four time state qualifier. She went on to swim for the University of Wisconsin ' Milwaukee and for the University of Cincinnati. Ashley graduated from Cincinnati with an Accounting degree. She now works for Ultimus Fund Solutions as a mutual fund accountant
Lorraine M Witkowski
Sycamore Red 3
Lori grew up
in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. She began swimming at age 5 for the
Plum Aqua Swim Club and then Plum High School Swim Team where she
excelled in the 100 Back and 200 IM. Lori graduated in 1989
from Robert Morris University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in
Business Administration & Marketing.
Lori moved to
Cincinnati in 2000 and began teaching and coaching at Powel Crosley
YMCA (2000 – 2004) where she was an instructor in the YMCA
swimming program. During this time Lori was also an assistant coach
for the 8 and under practice group for the Powel Crosley Swim Team.
Lori joined the East Butler YMCA in 2004 where she was a swim
instructor and started a pre-competitive 9 and under swim program.
Lori joined the Marlins in 2009.
swimming Lori currently does freelance graphic design for local
businesses. Lori lives in West Chester with her husband Mark, two
daughters Tara and Ella.
Sycamore Red 3B Coach
Kristen grew up in Indiana and swam for Yorktown Swim Club in
Muncie. She attended Indiana University from 2008-2012, and was
part of the Varsity Swim Team. She participated in the Big Ten
Championships and was a member of the team through 3 Big Ten titles
while being a Big Ten Scholar Athlete. She has coached for
various teams, and is currently a 4
grade teacher in the area. She is still very active and
competitive in running or tri events.
Anthony Kevin Roberts II
Sycamore Red 4 Coach
Roberts comes to the Marlins from the staff the Sycamore Flying
Fish. Tony has over 15 years of coaching experience working
with young swimmers. His enthusiasm and knowledge of the
sport has earned him respect among Cincinnati’s coaches,
parents and swimmers. An Indiana University graduate, Tony
also teaches math in the Cincinnati Public Schools.
Katie E McClure
Sycamore Red 4 Coach
Katie started her competitive swimming career with the Cincinnati Aquatic Club. She joined the Marlins from 2007-2009. She then continued on swimming in Division 2 at Ashland University. There she was part of the GLIAC Academic Excellence Team all 4 years and received a Scholar All-American Honorable Mention. Katie was also captain of the team.
She was also a volunteer and supervisor for the local swim school run by the swim team.
Katie graduated with an Early Childhood Special Education and Early Childhood degree and is currently a Preschool Intervention Specialist in the area. She is very excited to start working with everyone at Sycamore!
Heike E Wilson
Sycamore Asst Coach
Heike began swimming at 8 years old - starting out in Northwest Indiana, moving on to Boilermaker Aquatics in West Lafayette, Indiana, and then swimming for Ohio State while in college. Heike began coaching while she was in college for the Upper Arlington Swim Club in Columbus, Ohio and continued coaching at the University of Evansville as the men’s and women’s assistant coach in 2011-2012. Heike moved to Cincinnati for graduate school and currently works as a mental health counselor at Central Clinic with children ages 5-18. Heike is recently married to her husband Zach Wilson. Heike is excited to get back into coaching and join the Marlins team!
Amanda Marie Milkovich
Sycamore Asst Coach
Amanda began her competitive swimming career at the age of 5
with Lake Erie Silver Dolphins (LESD). She continued her career
through high school with Westerville Aquatics Club (WAC) and Dublin
Coffman High School where she graduated in 2010. Her main events
were the 500 free, 200 free, 200 IM, and 400 free relay. She
studied Apparel Merchandising and Product Development with a Minor
in Marketing at Bowling Green State University, and graduated in
2015. Currently, she is a recruiter with Apex Systems and in her
free time, she likes to volunteer within the community, and swim
with the Marlins Master Swim Team. She is also currently in the
process of applying to graduate schools to get her MBA. Don’t

Strength and Conditioning Coach
In 2005, Goodpaster founded Cincinnati Functional Fitness, his state-of –the-art performance and personal training facility dedicated to changing and enhancing the lifestyle and fitness habits of motivated individuals. CFF works with individual clients, athletes, and teams to reach their optimal fitness level. Goodpaster graduated in 2002 from the University of Cincinnati with a degree in health promotion. He is a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS) with the NSCA, certified functional training specialist and is USA weight lifting sports performance and club coach certified. In addition to working with people of all ages and abilities, Goodpaster has had the opportunity to train several elite swimmers in his facility. Much like wrestling, he has discovered a niche for cutting edge program design specifically for swimmers. Goodpaster recently became the head strength and conditioning coach for the Cincinnati Marlins.
