I am a former graduate of the University of Wyoming and division 1 collegiate athlete. I have competed at the Olympic Trials in 2008, 2012, and 2016. My specialties are in breaststroke and individual medley. My swimming career has been a gateway to life and what it takes to live as a human being. It has taught me a lot about how to deal with life’s challenges. The road to success, however one defines it for themselves is never straight. It always seems to meander like a raging river uncontrolled by man. We may never fill are hearts desires but making choices in the midst of difficult times defines our level of character. I bring that insight into coaching, friendships, family, opportunities, and life in general.
As of right now, I am furthering my education at Las Positas Community College for better opportunities outside the pool. I look forward to bring my knowledge and expertise to young individuals who desire to excel themselves through life. Swimming for me through the eyes of a teacher can bring about discipline, drive, motivation, health, and time management skills that can be applied to life, if the kids choose to do it.
I believe I bring a balance to this team that will impact the kids. I look for subtle details outside the pool and bring about the level of character a child can have toward other people. The greatest currency in the world is the impact we make on each other. Through guidance, a child can be shown the choices he can make as a human being. The real kicker is, we all have the right to take action, but we have to take responsibility for our actions whether it is bad or good.
I bring a positive atmosphere both in and out of the water, where everyone can feel comfortable and inspired to be the best they can be. I look forward to working with Tri Valley Aquatics.
