Wendy Neely

Head Swim Coach


Head Swim Coach: Wendy Neely- Wendy has been coaching competitive swimming for over 20 years and has been the head swim coach and developer of the largest Masters Swim Team in the State of WA, Blue Wave Aquatics.  She is the founder of the Tri Time Swimming Classes learn to swim program.  She won PNA Coach of the Year in 2017 and received the United States Swimming Kerri O’Brien “Visionary” Award in 2010.  Previously Wendy has been the head coach for the Thomas Jefferson High School Girls and Boys swim teams, winning a State Championship with the boys’ team and Academic State Championship for both boys and girls teams multiple years.  She is beginning her 6th year as the FAST Head Coach.  Last season as head coach, she led 25 swimmers to PNS Championships, 5 swimmers to Regional time cuts, and 5 swimmers to Wester Zone time cuts.  Her constant attention to detail, focus on training effectively and racing with passion led to an outstanding finish to both our short course and long course championship seasons. 

Matt Sellman

Lead Senior Coach


Lead Senior Swim Coach:  Matt Sellman - Matt has been collegiately coaching and a Director of Aquatics for over 20 years. The last 11 years he has been the Head Coach for Pacific Lutheran University as well as Director of Aquatics. Matt is a graduate of PLU and earned his Masters in Education from University of Finlay. Matt is a Level 4 American Swim Coach (American Swimming Coaches Association).  A 4 x ASCA Award of Excellence in Coaching (2009, 2010, 2018, 2019) and 6 x NWC Women’s Coach of the Year (’03, ’06, 1st NWC coach to earn 4 in a row: ’13, ’14, ’15, ’16) are among many of his accomplishments. He is the proud parent of three children; two of which swim on the team.  He is currently working with our Regional/Sectional training squad.

Austin Stiver

Assistant Coach


Assistant Swim Coach: Austin Stiver- Austin grew up in California.  She has been involved in competitive swimming for a number of years and also has a background in teaching lessons and coaching.  She recently graduated from the University of Puget Sound and was a student athlete, serving as the Vice President of the UPS Student Athlete Committee.  She is currently working with our Gold Elite and Bronze training squads.
