Head Swim Coach
Head Swim Coach: Wendy Neely- Wendy has been coaching competitive swimming for over 18 years and has been the head swim coach and developer of the largest Masters Swim Team in the State of WA, Blue Wave Aquatics. She is the founder of the Tri Time Swimming Classes learn to swim program. She received the United States Swimming Kerri O’Brien “Visionary” Award in 2010. Wendy has also been the head coach for the Thomas Jefferson High School Girls and Boys swim teams for the past 10 years. During that time her teams have won both the girls State Swimming Championships and the boys State Swimming Championships.
Assistant Swim Coach
Assistant Swim Coach: Rachael Deaderick – Rachael brings a multitude of qualities and experience to our coaching staff. She has been an outstanding swim instructor for over 6 years not only at the Fife Swim Center, but also in Tacoma and Lakewood. She has been a certified personal trainer and was prepared mentally and physically for the Army by a Champion Body Builder. Rachael was an Army Combat Medic and earned multiple Medical Badge Awards in South Korea, being promoted to the level of E5. She lead and trained individuals and small military teams of soldiers in hospital / ER environments, and while on active duty serving in Hungary was the lead medic on combat missions into Bosnia, Kosovo and Sarajevo. Rachael swam during her high school career at Lincoln HS and specialized in Butterfly and Diving! She has been a member of Blue Wave Aquatics for the past 3 years, swimming and training under FAST Head Coach, Wendy Neely. She still loves Butterfly, but has added a love for the IM. Rachael has also been a Girl Scout troop leader, and has trained Boy Scouts to pass their swimming training badges. Rachael received her Associates in Science from Midlands Technical College in Columbia, SC, is the mother of 5 and currently working with our Amber training squad with FAST.
