Monica Jadwin

Coach Monica is the lead development coach for the Neighborhood Swim Team and Ducklings programs. A Tacoma native, she started swimming at a young age with Metro Parks and subsequently worked as a lifeguard and swim instructor. During those years she also swam and played water polo for Lincoln High School. With a degree in Hospitality Business Management at Washington State University, Coach Monica did a 3-year stint in the restaurant industry before deciding to return to aquatics.

She is currently Lincoln High Schools’ Head Water Polo Coach. She hopes to help young women and men become successful citizens and foster a passion for swimming and aquatics through our Ducklings program.

Coach Monica is the Head Senior Coach for Metro Aquatics. She supervises the training and competitions for Sectional, High School and Masters groups. A large part of Coach Monica’s leadership is fostering future academic and athletic success beyond high school for all Metro swimmers.

Coach Monica brings sixteen years of competitive swim and coaching experience. Before joining Metro, Coach Monica was an Aquatics Coordinator and Swim Coach for two YMCAs in the greater Phoenix area, each one more than doubling swim team participation under her guidance. Coach Monica’s reputation from Arizona is one of successfully establishing opportunities for underprivileged youth and teens.

A three-sport athlete from Cottonwood, Arizona, Coach Monica earned her B.S. in Management and Organizational Behavior on cross-county and track scholarships from Benedictine University of Mesa.
