Jane C Rixe
Coach Jane has been coaching in Bellevue since 2007. Her swimmers have qualified for championship meets at all levels, from PNS Champs to Regionals and Sectionals to Junior Nationals, Nationals and Olympic Trials. Her swimmers have set PNS records and have made the USA Swimming Age Group National Top 10 list, as well as the USA Swimming All-Time Top 100 list. Jane has served as an assistant coach at the PNS All-Star team and the PNS NACC team.
Jane specializes in long-term swimmer development, planning and implementing multi-year comprehensive technique and training programs to take young swimmers at the developmental level to the Regional and National level. Drawing on her experience as a former classroom teacher certified in various disciplines spanning grades K-12, she incorporates the teaching of developmentally appropriate life skills training into all of her practice levels.
After swimming from a young child up through high school, Jane accepted an academic scholarship to study Engineering at the University of Michigan, ending her competitive career. Prior to becoming a full-time swim coach, she taught 6th grade Language Arts and 7th and 8th grade ESOL Reading and Language Arts. Jane lives in Clyde Hill with her husband and her 22-lb. cat Rocco.
Coach Wes is an ASCA Level 5 (highest level) coach with over 20 years of experience nationwide with swimmers of all ages and abilities. He has been the head coach of programs in Wisconsin, Indiana, South Carolina and Ohio, and has an excellent track record of developing beginners who go on to achieve success at the high school, national and collegiate levels.
Wes has directed several swim camps for 14 & Under swimmers, including the Southeastern Zone Distance Camp and summer camps at Auburn University and Butler University. He was selected as a coach for USA Swimming's National Select Camp and the National All-Star Zone Distance Camp at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. In 2000, his team won the USA Swimming Junior National Championship.
Wes graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Milwukee in 1992 with a degree in Criminal Justice.
Coach Debbi has been a substitute coach with Penguin Aquatics for a year and a half. In addition to her swim lesson teaching background, Debbi brings experience teaching a variety of academic subject at all levels, as she homeschools not only her own three boys, but other children as well.
A former college basketball player, Debbi specializes in mental skills training, teaching positive self-talk to adolescent girls and assisting with strategies for providing emotional support to teammates.
Debbi lives in Renton with her husband Brian and her three boys, all members of Penguin Aquatics.
