Tim’s coaching
background includes experience in many levels of the sport. He
began his career in Clinton, NY, where he served as an assistant
coach at Hamilton College while simultaneously working with
developmental swimmers at the local USA Swimming club team, the
Clinton Cudas.
The next 10 years saw him head west and afforded him opportunities
to work with Overlake Golf & Country Club (Athletics Director
and Head Coach, 8 seasons), Bellevue High School (Head Coach
of Boys Swimming, 1 season), Kalamazoo College (Assistant Coach of
Men’s & Women’s Swimming, 2 years), and Issaquah
Swim Team (Age Group Coach, Interim CEO/Head Coach, and Assistant
Head Coach, 5 years). He was also selected as an Assistant Coach of
the 2019 PNS Age Group Zones Team coaching staff.
Athletes under Tim’s guidance have achieved successful
performance outcomes in the sport. At the college level, he worked
with multiple team and conference record holders, two NCAA Division
III national champions, and one Division III national record
holder. At the age group level, he has directly coached multiple
IST team record holders, PNS and NWAG Regionals champions, All
Star, Zone and Sectional-level qualifiers, and swimmers who have
placed in the National Top 16.
Tim graduated from Hamilton College with a degree in Philosophy. He
swam for the Continentals and served as a captain his senior
season.

Eberth Rivera

Eberth Rivera was born in the beautiful city of Bogota in
Colombia where he began coaching swimming while going to school for
his bachelor degree in Physical Education. He has worked in
the area of swimming for 20 years. As a Physical Education teacher,
he has worked in several elementary schools and as swimming teacher
obtaining experience in teaching swimming to athletes ages 3 to 50
and over. In the Bogota Swimming League, he has worked for 16 years
with different categories with some national champions in his
charge. He has also overseen the master category (16 and over
National level athletes) attended the South American championships
multiple times with athletes ranking top in their country. I was a
swimmer in my hometown, butterfly and free being my favorite
styles. For him teaching swimming is not a job but a pleasure, it
is something that he enjoys immensely. Apart from teaching swimming
Eberth likes to spend time with his family, play soccer, dance, and
do water and outdoor activities such as camping.

Paola Arenas

Paola is originally
from Bogota, Colombia. She attended The INCCA University
graduating with a degree in Physical Education and Sport Culture
and swam on the team for four years. Paola has coached in Colombia
for 15 years with athletes at all levels. She lives in Issaquah and
enjoys reading, swimming, playing soccer and of course spending
time with her husband and daughter.

Emma Murray

Emma grew up in West Seattle,
Washington where she started swimming at 10 with White Water
Aquatics and CAAT. She continued to swim through high school,
becoming a captain for three years, as well as MVP and first team
every year, it was through this she discovered her life long love
of swimming. After high school she realized how much she missed
swimming and started to coach for summer league and high school
swim teams. She is currently a Pre-Law student at the University of
Washington where she is studying Political Science and Law,
Societies, and Justice with the intention to become an
entertainment lawyer.

Justin Morin

Justin joins IST after 10
years of coaching experience as Head Age Group Coach of CAAT (now
SMAC), Assistant Coach at Seattle University, Senior Development
Coach at Hillsboro HEAT, and serving on multiple LSC Zone and
All-Star staffs.
Justin started his competitive swimming career at age 11 with HEAT,
and later moved to Salmon Bay Aquatics in Seattle (now Cascade),
competing at many levels along the way including LSC, Northwest Age
Group Regionals, Junior Nationals, Nationals, and US Open
Championships. He went on to swim with a scholarship at Brigham
Young University and graduated with a degree in Psychology. After
college, Justin pursued his master’s degree in Clinical Metal
Health. His work history includes experience in Pediatric
Psychiatry, Behavioral Health, and serving as a Clinical
Therapist.
Justin's coaching career reflects care and dedication to athletes
and the sport, with swimmers under his tutelage accomplishing great
things in and out of the pool:

In addition to his
personal success, programs Justin has been a part of have seen
sustained growth and achievement at both local and national
levels.
Justin has a dedication towards Safe Sport, Diversity and
Inclusion, and student-athlete leadership. His coaching philosophy
closely aligns with IST's mission statement, and he sees himself as
a partner in the coaching and training processes. He believes in
focusing on the strengths of individuals to help bring out the most
in them by using internal resources to motivate, lead, and
accomplish great things in and out of the pool.
Joining Justin in the move to Issaquah will be his wife, Cassandra,
and 2 children: Daphne (7) and Ira (3).

Kris Daughters

Kris grew up in
Bellingham, Washington where she swam for the YMCA team and Sehome
High School. She attended Whitman College, earned a degree in
literature, and swam on the team for four years. She was team
captain in her senior year and an All-American and an NAIA national
championship competitor for four years. Kris earned a Masters
in Education from Seattle University in 1997 and has been teaching
English at Liberty High School ever since. Previous coaching
experiences include being a developmental coach for Bellevue Club,
and head coach for both Overlake Country Club and Liberty High
School. When not at the pool, Kris enjoys reading, gardening
and traveling.
