Ken D Fittro
Head Coach/Senior Coach
Coach Ken serves as Head Coach and Senior Coach. He has been coaching swimming and water polo since the age of 17. Ken swam competitively in Southern California and for his mentor, Ro Davis, who gave him the opportunity to work with a new group of developmental swimmers forty-two years ago while a prep swimmer with Fairfield High School and Solano Aquatic Club. Except for a two-year hiatus he has been coaching ever since. Ken is also a Special Education teacher (29 years) for Salinas Union High School District. In the last forty years he has coached swimming and water polo at Fairfield High School, Solano Aquatic Club, Peninsula Family YMCA and Chula Vista High School, San Diego, Reno Aquatic Club, Bishop Manogue High School, Washoe County School District, League Champions Seaside High School (20 years) and the Dolphins (24 years). Coach Ken’s swimmers have won high school league championships, Junior Olympic and Far Western Championships, and finished top eight at numerous, CCS, Sectionals and Futures Championships. He has also developed numerous High School All America swimmers, nationally ranked age group swimmers, and Junior National and Senior National Qualifiers. Ken has served many years as Head Coach for the Pacific Leadership Camp, Assistant Coach for Pacific ALL Star Team, and Assistant Coach for Pacific Swimming Distance Camp at Colorado Springs. Ken is married and lives in Seaside, his children Molly and James are also coaches for Seaside Aquatic Club.
Molly Kate Fittro
Head Age Group Coach/ AG3 - Peninsula
Molly Fittro first started swimming at the age of 4 when her dad needed an extra swimmer for an 8-un relay. She continued swimming for Seaside Aquatic Club until she graduated from high school. You can still find Molly’s name in various Top Ten Times for our team. Molly also swam for Seaside High School all four years and was awarded Most Valuable Swimmer every year. She was Team Captain her sophomore through senior years.
Molly earned a swimming scholarship to Union College in Barbourville, KY. She swam for Union all 4 years and placed in the Top 10 at the NAIA Swimming Championships every year. Her freshman year she was awarded the Melva & Brick Award for succeeding in both the pool and the classroom. Molly still holds the school records in the 500, 1000, and 1650 freestyles. She graduated from Union in 2012 with a Business major and an Economics minor.
After graduation, Molly heard SEA needed a coach and she felt it was time to give back to the team who had given her so much. She enjoys coaching a great deal and is quite the “kid-magnet.” The kids keep her laughing, and she loves watching them improve so much. SEA is grateful that Coach Molly is back!!
Brian M Potts
Site Dir-Hartnell/Pre Senior/Junior
Potts started coaching at the age of 20 on the Monterey Peninsula
in both water polo and swimming. Brian, in his thirteen years on
the Monterey Peninsula, has coached swimming and water polo for the
Barracuda Aquatics of the Monterey Peninsula, York, Captain Cooper
School, and Carmel High School.

worked with the USC Swim Camp for six summers to further his study
of swimming at one of the top ten Swim Camps in the United States.

Brian has leveraged all of his experiences and knowledge while his
swimmers have achieved numerous Dolphin Team Records, Junior
Olympic Championship Finalists, and Champions, Far Western
Champions, numerous CCS top eight finishes, Sectionals
qualifications, CIF Swimming State championship finalists, and
Futures time standards. He has also developed numerous Meet High
Point Swimmers, Alcatraz open water winners, High School
All-American swimmers, USA Nationally ranked age-group swimmers,
and Junior National Qualification times.

James L Fittro
Pre-Senior Group Coach - Peninsula
James Fittro literally grew up around the pool, having competed in his first meet at four years old. As an Age Group Swimmer, James won all five events that he qualified for at his first Junior Olympic Championships. With these victories he also qualified for his first ever Speedo Sectionals Championship meet in each of the five events. James holds several Dolphins and Seaside High School Team Records. He participated in the 2011 Senior Nationals Open Water Swim Championships in Ft. Lauderdale Fl. and in that same year was awarded USA Swimming Scholastic All America. He has also won many Open Water Swimming events, including several Alcatraz swims and the Folsom Lake 10k Championships. James recently completed his college career at Notre Dame College of Ohio with several school and pool records. He has a strong belief in swimming skills, mental preparation, pace practice, and having fun

Varsity Hartnell Coach
Jed Galutira is one of thirteen swimmers who are part of the Founding Participants who started the Dolphins Aquatic Club. Jed has participated successfully as an Age Group Swimmer, winning many Junior Olympic and Far Western Championships. As a Senior Swimmer; Jed was a Junior National Qualifier, Multiple National All-Star Relay Record Holder, and High School All America in multiple events. Jed still holds Dolphins and Monterey High School Team records. After high school Jed took his skills to Cal State Bakersfield where he applied himself in Freesytyle Sprints and Backstroke. Jed was coached by 5x DII National Champion Coach Bob Steele. Jed’s return to swimming was as first place Age Group Finisher in the Alcatraz Challenge swim. Soon he was back on the deck, working with new champions. Jed is currently completing his degree at CSUMB in Physical Therapy and hopes to pursue graduate school upon completion. If anyone has ever watched Jed compete in the CVAL Coaches relay, you know he still has speed clocking in a 22.56 at our Championship victory in 2017.
Junior Group Coach - Peninsula
Gordon King comes to Seaside Aquatic Club with a wealth of swimming knowledge, which includes 15 years of year round competitive swimming. As an age group swimmer Gordon held 8 national records and represented the US in international swim events. He was a 72 and 76 Olympic Trial Qualifier, New Jersey State Champion in the Individual Medley and Backstroke, and a Division 1 Collegiate All-American. Gordon has 10 years of coaching experience mostly at the Jersey Wahoo’s in New Jersey where he had the number one rated (11/12) boys and girls in the country. Coach Gordon's motto: "I believe in teaching strong swimming mechanics, endurance training, and encouraging swimmers to enjoy the sport." The Dolphins are excited to have added Coach Gordon and his vast knowledge of swimming mechanics and training. Coach Gordon can be found at our Seaside High School location coaching the Junior Group on Mon/Wed/Fri 6-7pm, as well as Tue/Thu 5-6pm.
Marlee L Figueroa
Dolphins & AG2 Coach - Peninsula
Marlee Figueroa was born and raised in Southern California in an aquatic family. Her mother swam and dove competitively and her father coached swimming and water polo, from beginners to Olympians. Marlee attended UC Irvine where she met and married her husband Gary Figueroa , a water polo player. He is the women’s water polo coach at CSUMB. They have two grown children, a daughter Jorji, and a son Sam.
Coach Marlee began her career as a swim coach/teacher when she was 15, working for a swim club that practiced at her high school. She has coached swimming off and on since then working at YMCA’s, swim clubs, water polo clubs and country clubs.
Currently, Marlee coaches the Dolphin group for Seaside Aquatics. She is also in charge of Seaside’s satellite team at Corral de Tierra Country Club. There she coaches a novice level swim team and gives ‘learn to swim’ lessons to brand new swimmers.
Santiago Mikael Maciel
Dolphins & AG3 - Hartnell Coach
Santiago Maciel grew up in the bay
area and swam locally since he was 8 years old. He swam
competitively for 10 years on the local Gilroy Gators Swim Team,
swam in high school all four years qualifying for CCS every year
and retiring with Club and High School Records, some of which still
stand today. Later he swam for 2 years while atending
Cabrillo College. He found his way back to swimming through
coaching which he has been doing for the past 9 years.
Santiago has further shared his passion for swimming with
others as a guest coach at many Swim Camps and All Star meets held
by Pacific and USA Swimming. He follows ASCA/USA Swimming
recommended Developmental Progressions for Age Group Swimmers and
believes in developing a strong foundation with healthy life habits
in and out of the pool.
