J&M Swim, LLC - Owner, Chief Operating Officer
Coach Matt has coached and taught swimming from novice/recreational to Olympic level athletes. He has enjoyed his tenure with the NCAP organization for more than 30 years. Matt currently oversees the general operations of J&MSwim (which he founded with Coach Jeff in 1997), and the Alexandria division of Nations Capital Swim Club (NCAP). Matt enjoys developing beginning competitive swimmers into seasoned athletes. After all — his roots in the sport spread throughout the summer league teams of the Mount Vernon area where he began coaching at 14. He prides the J&Mswim franchise as a family-friendly program, catering to the needs of any and all levels of competition. Matt works for the Federal Government as an energy engineer and loves his role as a parent volunteer for summer swimming. He is married, and he and his wife Joanne have two children. The Murrays have been involved in swimming as a family for many years!
Jackie has been coaching swimming since 2005 and with J&M since 2011. She currently runs our social media accounts on instagram and facebook. She attended George Mason for a Masters of Special Education and again for Educational Leadership. Jackie is currently an Assistant Principal in Fairfax County.

I was born and raised in Macungie, PA which is on the eastern side of Pennsylvania. I grew up on a summer swim team, and then started swimming year round when I was in middle school. I swam for my high school, and continued on in college at the Division 3 level. Swimming has always been a love of mine, and I grew that love through coaching my summer swim team from home! I learned so much, and used that knowledge to help me through learning to become an elementary school teacher. I currently teach 3rd grade at Belle View Elementary School!
My favorite part about coaching is seeing kids swim in events they never thought they could do, and be successful! The smiles at the end of a race are the best part!
Patrick joined a swim team when he was 5 years old and has liked swimming ever since! He enjoys working with swimmers to acheive their goals.
Coach Connor has been swimming for over 18 years. Growing up he participated in both summer and high school swim. In college, he was on the club swim team for 2 years. Over the past 4 years, Connor helped coach the summer program at Hayfield Farm. After graduating from Virginia Tech, Connor joined the J&M Swim Team full time and helps coach both the AM and PM Senior Prep groups as well as high school fitness. Outside of swim, Connor loves watching all sports, grilling, and staying active. For the future, Connor is working towards attending physician assistant school, but plans to stay involved through and after school!
