Scott is returning to Rancho for his seventh year as Head
Coach. Scott grew up swimming for Indian Valley, Las Lomas
HS and played water polo and swam at Las Lomas and DVC.
Scott has been coaching swimming for a variety of recreational,
year-round and high school programs for over 30 years. He
coached Las Lomas to its first NCS title and 2 titles in 4
years. Scott graduated from Cal State Hayward with a BS in
General Science—Biology emphasis. In the Rancho
off-season Scott runs the PE Department at Charlotte Wood Middle
School in Danville, is a master teacher for St. Mary’s
College School of Education and is the Head Coach of the Acalanes
High School Swim Team. Scott is also involved in functional
athletic training, possesing a Performance Enhancement
Specialization from the National Academy of Sports Medicine
and passed his State Board of Real Estate exam. Scott's
three kids swim at Rancho (of course!): Cait, Emma and Jon.

Head Assistant Coach - 11 & Unders
This is Tommy's fifth season at Rancho, and we are thrilled to have him back with us for another great season. He grew up in Orinda and swam for Orinda Country Club. He went on to coach at OCC for eight years assisting at all age levels and was in charge of the 6 & unders for two years. Tommy is excited to bring his enthusiasm and knowledge to Rancho, and is excited to work with Scott, Sarah & Julio again. Tommy graduated from UC Davis in 2010 with a BA in Film Studies with an emphasis in production and currently works at a documentary film production company based in Berkeley.
Assistant Coach - 6 & Unders
Julio returns to Rancho for his third year to head up our
6&Under age group. He is studying at San Jose State in
pursuit of a child and adolescent development degree. Swimming has
been a huge part of his life as he swam competitively for
over ten years on a swim team called BEAR swimming and
has been coaching for six years. He has coached at a
learn-to-swim school in El Sobrante named Canyon Swim School,
Moraga Ranch Swim Club, Orinda Park Pool and Miramonte
HS. We love his Wahoo enthusiasm!
Sarah is a beloved former Rancho swimmer (14 years!) and former Wild Wahoo helper and Junior Coach. This is her fourth year as an Assistant Coach. In addition to assiting with all age groups, Sarah runs our Gutter Guppy and Intro to Swim program. Sarah has Rancho running through her blood - her mother Helen grew up and swam for Rancho. Sarah studies at the University of Alabama, Roll Tide!
Wayne is a long time former Rancho swimmer, Wild Wahoo
helper and beloved Junior Coach. This will be his first
year as an Assistant Coach. Wayne's 4 other siblings all
have swam or swim at Rancho and he is a proud
