32 years coaching swimming, 6th season with the Fair Oaks
Dolphins
Why does a kid join a swim team? Because her best friends are
doing it! And so began my love of swimming back in 1971 when I
joined the El Dorado Hills Swim Team. From that year on, I
lived at the pool during the summertime. Swim team, synchronized
swimming, diving, and hanging out with friends shaped my childhood.
I loved all sports, so I only swam one year in high school, and
then went on to Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo where I earned a degree
in Biochemistry. Family soon became my priority, but missing
the “pool life”, I answered a newspaper ad for swim
instructors at Rollingwood Racquet Club in 1987. Three-month-old
baby Michelle accompanied me on my interview, and we were hired!
I served as the Rockets Head Coach in 1988, 89, and 90, and as
my family continued to grow, I decided to go back to work full-time
in the environmental industry. I remained with the club, teaching
lessons, swimming with the Masters group, and coaching the Rockets
part time for the next decade. In 1999 I accepted the Swim Director
position at Rollingwood, and then took over as Head Coach again in
2001. The team was very successful and had a 16 year run as
Sacramento Swim League champs. My emphasis has always been teaching
fundamental swim techniques, while providing a fun friendly
environment for kids and their families. I do not measure
success by the number of “wins”, but by the number of
lives I can touch. What keeps me going? I love kids, and there's
nothing more gratifying than becoming a part of their childhood
memories.
I have 3 grown children, Michelle (a.k.a. Coach Misha), Corina,
and Jake. Swimming is a big part of my life, but I also enjoy
cycling, especially mountain biking. Life is like mountain
biking… lots of obstacles and it’s usually easier to
just roll over them, than to try and go around!

Jack Coyle Solt
Lead Coach

Coach Jack is now onto his eighth year coaching for the Fair
Oaks Dolphins. Jack started off as a junior coach for the dolphins
when he was fourteen and had worked hard to become a lead coach of
the Jr. Dolphins for a season and is currently the lead coach for
the Killer Whale, Narwhal, and Water Buffalo practice groups. Jack
has also been a competitive swimmer for the dolphins for thirteen
years and has received numerous athletic awards from the program
and has over a decade of competitive swimming experience being a
member of Bella Vista High Schools aquatics program for four years
and for Sierra College for two years. Jack has been on numerous
sectional teams and was a member of the 2016 CCCAA State
Championship team and the 2017 CCCAA Runner Up State Championship
team, where he has trained and competed with and against Division
One NCAA athletes and Olympic Trials Qualifiers. Jack believes that
as a coach, it is his responsibility to create a lasting impact on
each athlete that enters the pool deck and work with them to become
the best possible athlete that they can become in and out of the
water. Growing up never being the record breaking swimmer or the
fastest kid on the team, Coach Jack understands the importance that
each swimmer has on this team and that you are never as strong as
your weakest link. At the end of the day, we are all a part of a
team, and Coach Jack really makes sure that each athlete has a role
on this team and that no one role is more important than another
role. Jack is currently a senior studying communications with an
emphasis on mass, organizational, and small group communication at
Sacramento State University and hopes to graduate at the end of the
spring 2019 semester. Outside of swimming, Coach Jack is an Eagle
Scout from Troop 310 and also works for Topgolf Roseville as a
platinum host and a member of their marketing team. Jack has been a
part of the Fair Oaks Dolphins for fifteen years now and is very
excited to work with every athlete that walks on the pool deck this
year.

Hey everyone! My name is
Cassidy and being a swim coach is everything to me! Swimming
has provided me with so many life lessons, happy memories, and
amazing opportunities over the years I cannot imagine my life
without it. My history in the swimming world began with five years
of synchronized swimming, and then I switched over to the
competitive side with FOD(Fair Oaks Dolphins) when I was thirteen
years old. Even though I did not start on the team until I was a
little older, I was instantly apart of the FOD family and my
competitive swimming career took off! As for my coaching
background, I started in the water helping out as a junior coach
when I was fifteen, and worked my way up over the years to lead
coach! This team has provided me with so much love and support and
I know you will feel this as well, and I cannot wait to meet you
and your swimmers!

Hello! I’m Ava and I have been a swimmer for 12 years, and
I’ve been coaching for 5 years. I’m a senior at Bella
Vista High School (Go Broncos!), and I find such joy in swimming
and spending time with all of the kids, and it is very rewarding to
me to be able to spend so much time on the pool deck with so many
amazing families! I have been a swimmer under Coach Kim Berrios for
my entire life, and I value her expert coaching skills as well as
her wonderful attention to technique. With her guidance, as well as
the guidance of the other amazing coaches on the Dolphins, I am
able to provide instruction for any type of age group. My goal is
always to bring positivity and fun to the pool deck so that
everyone is enjoying their time in or outside of the pool! This
will be my 5th year swimming for the Fair Oaks Dolphins, and it has
been such a wonderful journey, and I look forward for many years to
come!

Hey everybody! My name is Dominic, I'm 17 years old and am currently a senior at Del Campo High School. I've been swimming with the Dolphins since I was nine years old and love this team so much! This will be my fourth year assisting in coaching and I'm looking forward to a great season this year. My favorite part about being a coach is working with the kids and helping them improve their swimming and seeing the end results at Champs. I'm very excited for this season because I think we can really do an amazing job and have a lot of kids final at Champs! Go Dolphins!
