Coaching Staff

Kamryn Walker

Head Coach

Hello Everybody! My name is Kamryn Walker. Though I am a younger age than most head coaches, I have many, many years of swimming & coaching experience behind me. I was a competitive swimmer at Walnut Grove and Forest Hills, I also swam varsity at Edgewood High School for 4 years. Along with being a swimmer myself, I have  been coaching since I was about 15, I coached the 6 & under age group at Forest Hills the last 3 years and I loved every minute of it. I am a swim instructor at the Atrium Family YMCA.
Swimming is my passion, and teaching children how to swim and safety around the water is what I genuinely love to do.
Besides my many swim oriented jobs I am also a “Master-At-Arms” in the United States Navy. I graduated bootcamp in November of 2018 and completed my training school specific to my job in February. I returned to Ohio as a reservist for now, with plans on switching back to active duty as soon as I complete my education.
As much as I loved coaching my little ones at Forest Hills, when this opportunity to be the head coach of Wildwood came up I was more than excited to say yes. I did not grow up at Wildwood like so many of our swimmers have, but any pool is a home to me. I am a swimmer through & through. I am immensely excited to make Wildwood my new home. Thank you all for welcoming me with open arms. I will do the absolute best I can for our team. Here’s to a great swim season, and a whole lot of fun too!

Taylor Jean Watkins

Assistant Coach

Taylor Watkins Bio

Hi guys!  I’m Taylor Watkins and I swam swimming competitively for 12 years. I started swimming with the Monroe Dolphins and swam for their summer team until I was 12. I then moved to the Lakota Stingrays for club swimming and swam all year round there until I was 17. I swam for Monroe High School for 4 years and swam for Monroe Wildwood for 1 year! I’m very happy to be returning to coach at Wildwood! This summer is going to be a blast!

Brooke AnnMarie Beck

Assistant Coach

Hey guys! I’m Brooke Beck and I have been swimming competitively for almost 5 years. I first started swimming for GMVY Wahoos, and during my freshman year of high school I started swimming for Monroe High School. My favorite stroke is the backstroke and my favorite race is the 500 free. I am very excited to be joining the Wildwoods coaching staff, and to see all the swimmers improve and grow this summer.

Aubrianna P Jones

Assistant Coach

My name is Aubri Jones. I’m 18 years old, and I have been swimming for about 13 years. If you can’t tell ... it’s my favorite sport! I go to Monroe High School, so I swim on my school’s team.  I have swam in the past for Walnut Grove and Monroe-Wildwood. My favorite stroke is probably breast stroke, but I really like them all!

I am so thrilled to be a part of Wildwoods’ coaching staff, and I can’t wait to see everyone grow individually and as a team. This season is sure to be great and I am excited to meet everyone! :)

Shannon Johnson

Official and past Head Coach

My love for swimming competitively began when I was 5 years old when I was asked to join the Mt. Healthy summer swim team.  Later my family moved and I joined the Pleasant Run Farms summer swim team.  I swam for them until the age of 16.  I also swam for the Fairfield YMCA and to the sheer delight of my summer coaches, I developed and improved on my butterfly technique.  Butterfly became my all time favorite stroke!

I'm married to my high school sweetheart, Ian.  We have two daughters and two grandchildren. Both of our daughters swam for the PRF swim team and Monroe swim team. During that time, my husband and I became Level ll swim officials.  For several years I took on the responsibility of the swim team president.

I began working for the Monroe Local Schools in 2004.  I currently manage the Primary school clinic.  Our family moved to Monroe in 2005.

In October 2015 I accepted the position as the Head Coach for the Monroe High School Swim Team.  The past 4 years have been extremely successful!

In June 2016, I was an assistant coach for the Monroe/Wildwood swim team.  In June 2017, I became the head coach for the team.

For 2019 my role is more of a consultant or advisor to our fantatic coaching staff.  It is my hope that I can inspire them to believe in themselves, that they can accomplish their goals above and beyond their own expectations.
