Daniel Rico

Head Coach

This is Daniel's 18th season as a member of the Forest Hills Swim Team. He started swimming for Forest Hills in 2003 when he was 7 years old and continued until his final season in 2014. As a swimmer for Forest Hills Daniel took the 15-18 breaststroke team records and placed county in all his other events. During this time Daniel also swam for his high school team at Alhambra High School where he was Team Captain for his Sophomore, Junior and Senior year.

Daniel is a recent graduate from the University of California Santa Cruz where he achieved a B.S. in Technology and Information Management. During his time at Santa Cruz he continued his swim career at the NCAA level as a member and Team Captain of the UCSC swim team. This is now his 9th year as a coach for Forest Hills and he continues to pass on the Beaver tradition to the younger kids. His time with the team as a competitor was a rewarding experience but Daniel now enjoys encouraging the younger kids to strive for similar goals. In his free time he also enjoys hiking, photography, and general tom foolery.

Erik Pham

Assistant Coach

Hey everyone! My name is Erik, and this will be my first year coaching at Forest Hills Swim Team. I started swimming competitively at the age of 7 all through high school for Pala Rancho Swim Team in San Jose, CA. My wife and I recently moved to the East Bay, where I am currently teaching math and coaching water polo at Alhambra High School. I am super excited for this opportunity to coach and provide a safe space for my swimmers to develop, compete, and have fun throughout the entire season. I can't wait to meet all of you soon! #GoBeavers
