As a lifelong lover of swimming, my goal is
to bring on a staff team promoting enthusiasm, energy, and
excellence to help develop each of the swimmers as an athlete and
as a person. For the past 5+ years, I have been blown away by
this community and its care for each other, generosity, and high
level of achievement in so many areas. I hope our swim team
can reflect those community values for years to

Coach Taylor is no stranger to the pool and accredits her swim athleticism to the community of Rock Creek and the Rock Creek Flyers. Taylor began swimming with the Rock Creek Flyers in the 11/12 age group and continued with the team for three years. Taylor even held the pool record for the 100 Fly the Summer of 2010. Taylor received her Athletic Letter her Freshman year at Fairview High School, qualified as a State swimmer for the Fairview Knights for three years and received her NISCA State Top 16 Award in her Senior year. In addition to swimming for her high school, Taylor swam with the USA Year-Round Swimmers for three years and competed at two (2012 and 2014) USA Swimming Sanctioned Sectional meets. Taylor was accepted to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the Spring of 2013 and just completed her Sophomore year as an Architecture major, as well as swimming with two club teams in Nebraska and competing in the East Coast Collegiate Club Nationals, placing in the Top 15 in all events, as well as being the team’s female high point scorer. Taylor worked with the 11-12 age group last year and is excited to be coaching and learning from the younger and older kids this year. Taylor has trained to focus on technique to improve strokes and lessen injury and enjoys teaching other swimmers these techniques, while having a fun season.

Coach Tatiana has
been a coach on pool decks for the last 13 years of her life. She
has worked with all ages ranging from 6 months to adult triathletes
and is so excited to work with the Rock Creek Flyers this year. Her
background in working with the developmental ages all the way up to
the USA year round swimmers & triathletes has given her a broad
spectrum of knowledge and adaptability on deck. Tatiana started her
own swimming career at the age of 8 on a summer league team and
grew with the program until she was college bound. She concurrently
swam for a year round USA team 11 months of the year and was a
4-year Varsity State swimmer during her high school years. Due to a
shoulder injury, she swam leisurely a couple times a week with the
Penn State Club Team and focused her attention on swim coaching.
While at Penn State she obtained a degree in Kinesiology (Exercise
Science) which turned into a passion for helping her swimmers
strengthen their strokes and technique by helping them gain
“efficient” speed while being bio-mechanically correct
to avoid injury. Tatiana also is a certified Health Coach and
obtained the certification through the Institute of Integrative
Nutrition. With the additional education she is able to round out
her coaching ability with helping swimmers with
proper nutrition for practice and

Coach 9 -
I have been a part of the flyers for the
majority of my life in some form or another. My brother swam for
the flyer before me and then for his high school team, so it's safe
to say swimming has been a huge part if my life. I swam for the
flyers for 6 years, outside of the flyers I swam for my high school
team all four years. I am currently attending The University of
Colorado at Boulder. I am very excited for this
Alex Higgins is originally from Albuquerque NM. He just moved to Boulder this past summer after completing his degree and the University of New Mexico and is currently employed at the Uber Mapping project in Louisville.
Swimming has been a part of his life since he can remember. He swam as a summer swimmer until he was twelve in the Sundance Summer League in Albuquerque before moving around to multiple club teams throughout the rest of his career. As he developed, he became a great breast and free swimmer but love to teach all four strokes equally. He started coaching at Tanoan Country club when he was 15 and eventually worked his way up to the Head Coaching position eight years later. Along with heading a large summer program of 180, he has also head coached the boys and girls teams at Del Norte High School, which under his leadership, jumped from dead last to a top ten school in only three years. He is most proud of his coaching in the club circuit, however, as he helped coach multiple swimmers to state championships, sectional and junior nationals appearances. In addition to coaching kids for ten years now, he also have three years of experience coaching a master’s program ranging from beginners to national masters champions.
As a competitive swimmer, he had great success in the state of New Mexico with multiple top 8 state finishes in the 50yd free, 100yd free, 200yd free, 100yd breaststroke and 200yd breast in both High School and Club meets. He also broke school records at Sandia High School, one of which still stands today.
He continues to swim as often as possible but have migrated more towards the triathlon scene in recent years. He is very excited to get back into the coaching scene!
11-12 Assistant Coach and Returning pre-team assistant
Cailen started swimming competitively when she was 7 years old in Minnesota. After moving to Colorado, Cailen joined the Boulder Swim Team where she competed for 7 years, and recently moved to the Jeffco Hurricanes in Arvada. In addition to USA Swimming, she also competes with Fairview High School and is a 3 time state finalist. Cailen has competed at the Speedo Sectionals, both short course and long course, swimming in finals for both meets.
Cailen is a sprinter, swimming freestyle, backstroke and butterfly. She loves coaching and sharing her swimming experience with kids of all ages and can’t wait to get more involved with the Flyers!
In addition to swimming, Cailen loves travel, time with friends, piano, art and is a little bit of a foodie. Now deep into her college search, Cailen hopes to compete at the collegiate level and study biology/ecology or marketing/communications.
9-10 Assistant Coach
Lauren is ecstatic about working with the Flyers this summer! She is currently a freshman at the University of South Dakota where she is swimming Division 1 and getting her degree in Education in hopes to become a high school teacher or professor. She is also a part of the Honors Program at USD. Previous to college, She swam for RallySport Aquatics Club and attended Fairview High School. She was a Varsity swimmer all four years of high school and qualified for the 5A State Championships in the 500 free, 200 IM, and the 100 butterfly! As someone who has been swimming for over 10 years, she knows what it is like reaching a goal you've been working so hard to achieve, and so she strives to do everything in her power to help your child achieve each and everyone of their goals. She can't wait to be a part of the team, and if you have any questions or need to contact her, my email address is: firstname.lastname@example.org
SwimAmerica Lesson Coordinator (and returning Masters Swim coach)
Sarah started competing as a year round competitive swimmer at the age of 7 and swam through college and on into masters. Being a swimmer naturally led to her working as a lifeguard and swim instructor starting during the summer of 2000. She's managed pools and lessons in both California and Colorado and has coached swimmin g at the summer, USA, high school and masters levels. She has an undergraduate degree in social science and a graduate degree in education and has spend time on both ends of the spectrum as both a high school & preschool teacher. She's really excited to have the opportunity to work with you all this summer and to develop the best program possible for the Flyers & city of Superior!
