Hello Barracuda families! My name is Madelline Kalenius and I am so excited to be coaching this year! I started swimming for Fairwood at age 7,swam through my senior year of high school, and recieved my Golden Barracuda award in 2019. I am currently a junior at the University of Washington studying speech and hearing sciences to pursue a career in pediatric speech therapy. My favorite stroke has always been breaststroke and my favorite memory from my years as a Barracuda is breaking the Fairwood 50 breaststroke record in 2018. I have made lasting friendships as well as learned the value of true teammates throughout my 14 years as a part of the Fairwood family and am so thankful for the opportunity to continue this journey as a coach. I hope to see lots of smiles, team spirit, and fast swims! Let’s go ‘Cudas!

Hello Fairwood Barracuda Families! My name is Natalie Goldsmith. I am super excited to coach the Barracuda Swim Team this year along with Coach Mike and Coach Madelline. I swam on the Fairwood team for 12 years (including as a Bitty) and I was awarded my Golden Barracuda plaque 2 years ago. In addition, I began coaching for the team 3 years ago as Bitties Coach. I am currently studying at Washington State University with a major in Kinesiology to pursue a career in Physical Therapy. I am excited to coach the Barracudas because this pool and this team feel like home to me. I am close to so many of the team families, and I have an excitement for leadership positions. I am most excited to lead a swim team I grew up with and am hoping to lead each swimmer into the success they would like to achieve. I am also very excited to see so many swimmers I have known for years, and also some of my former Bitties, who will be in the 8 and unders this summer. I look forward to seeing you all at the pool very soon!
