Briana Johnson

Coach Briana Johnson

Briana has been a part of the Fairwood family since she joined the swim team in 2007. Her love for the water led her to lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons at the Fairwood pool when she was 15. She continued working as a lifeguard and swim instructor throughout college. Briana began coaching the Bitty Barracudas and assistant coaching for the Fairwood swim team in 2014.

In college, Briana stayed active in the water by playing on Western Washington University’s water polo team. She enjoyed playing in tournaments and leading the team as captain for two years. Briana also finished her Elementary and Special Education student teaching internships this year in Kent. She is currently teaching Kindergarten at Lake Youngs for the remainder of the year. This year, Briana also had the amazing opportunity to be the assistant coach for the Kentridge High School Girls Swim team.

Briana is so excited for her fourth season of coaching the Barracudas Swim Team! She can’t wait for another awesome swim season!

Go Fairwood!

Chase Bublitz

Coach Chase Bublitz

Chase started swimming for Fairwood when he was just 4 years old with the Bitty Barracudas in 2000. Every year since he has always looked forward to the summer months to be a part of the Fairwood family. He started lifeguarding at the pool when he was 16 and is very excited for his third year coaching the Barracudas.

Chase fell in love with swimming thanks to Fairwood and it led him to the University of Minnesota where he competed collegiality for two seasons. He graduated in December 2017 with a Bachelors in Political Science and Sociology and has since moved back to the Seattle area. He recently completed an internship with the Washington Environmental Council and hopes to find a job working for a nonprofit.

Last season was one a very memorable year at Fairwood for Chase and he is excited for another one and to have lots of fun!
