2018 Goodman Waves Coaches

Nick Nager

Head Swim Coach

Nick, former Goodman Waves swimmer, joins us for his 5th season coaching and we consider ourselves super lucky to have him around. Nick began swimming competitively at the wee age of 14, when he joined join the Goodman Waves Swim team. That summer he learned the value of hard work, dedication and self-confidence through swimming. Unfortunately, the next summer, practice was moved to 8am from 9am, which dealt a huge blow to his sleeping commitment. Fortunately, he chose swimming. Everyday he's elated to come to practice and see kids learning more about swimming and about themselves!

He graduated from UW Madison with a BA in Sociology. He spent a semester abroad and studied at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. Usually, one can find Nick either nose deep in a book or fast asleep in the sun.

Kate Ossmann

Head Dive Coach

Kate is a long time friend of the Goodman Pool and the Waves. She has taught swim and dive lessons at the Goodman Pool for nine summers. She dove with for Monona Swim & Dive Club for seven summer season and competed in the All City Dive Meet. She is very excited to bring her experience to the Waves Dive Team.

During the off-season, Kate is a lead preschool teacher at a local daycare. Teaching kids is her passion and brightens her day. She loves helping kids achieve and showing them they can do things they didn't believe they could do. For her, there's no greater feeling then when a kid gains confidence and believes in themselves.

When Kate’s not working she enjoys spending time with her son and family. They enjoy being outside, swimming, and bike riding and going on adventures.
