2019 Goodman Waves Coaches

Nick Nager

Head Swim Coach

Email

I am excited for my 2nd year as the Goodman Waves Head Swim Coach and 7th season with the Waves. Swimming began right here at the Goodman pool when I was fourteen. Despite the lack of donuts, I decided that swimming was the sport for me and continued along my aquatic path with East High School, the Waves, and the UW Madison’s Swim and Water Polo club teams.

As a coach, I stress the importance of hard work and self-growth while promoting a fun team atmosphere for all Waves athletes. When I'm not swimming, you can find me curled up alongside my cat, George or bicylcing around Madison in search of the perfect cheese curd. If you want to get to know me better, please come up and say hi!

Ann is excited to coach her first season with the Goodman Waves. She has been a guard at the Goodman pool for 4 years.

Ann began swimming in the All City league at the age of four for Monona and moved over to Maple Bluff when she was 10. She also swam for the YMCA and East High School. She finished her swimming career her senior year at Maple Bluff. Ann loves the sport because it's taught her to never give up and push through.

Ann is studying Criminal Justice at The University of Dubuque. She played one season with the softball team at Dubuque. In the summer, you can find her at the Madison Mallards or cuddled up with her dog, Deeks.

Assistant Swim & Dive Coach

This is Zach's second year coaching for the Goodman Waves and he couldn’t be more excited! He started swimming his freshman year of high school and has loved it ever since. Currently swimming for UW-Stevens Point, he can’t wait to pass down his knowledge of swimming to the eager Goodman Waves swimmers.

Besides swimming, you can find him going for a stroll on his road bike or riding fast down some dirt trails on his mountain bike. He loves to be outside and enjoy nature. On a rainy day, you can find him climbing some routes in Boulder’s Climbing Gym.

Zach is looking forward to seeing everyone on the pool deck!

Tyler Moser
Assistant Swim Coach

Tyler began competitively swimming in 2000 at the age of seven. During the winter, he swam with the Green County Golden Gators until 2006. Over the summers, he swam with the Monroe Area Swim Team (MAST) until 2009. In his final summer of swimming, he started coaching for MAST and continued to serve as an assistant coach until 2012. In 2013 he served as the Co-Head Coach of MAST alongside his mother, Linda. In 2015, Tyler began helping out with the YDC United Swim Team, with this past year being his second year of coaching. Tyler also served as the Assistant Coach of the Monroe/New Glarus High School Girls Swim Team for two years, where his mother, Linda, is the Head Coach.

Assistant Swim Coach

Maddie is excited to be a coach again this year! She started competitive swimming with the Goodman Waves at age 11, and also swam for Badger Aquatics Club (BAC) and at LaFollette High School for four years. She loves this amazing sport because of the support and positivity it has given her.

She wants to be part of the Goodman coach team because this team means so much to her. Her goal this year is to make sure everyone has fun, makes new friends and learns something new every day. Her hobbies include camping, walking her dog Ellie Mae, going to the library in search of some scary novels, and swimming of course!

Assistant Swim Coach

Katia is excited to coach her first season with the Goodman Waves. Not a new face at the pool, Katia began her swimming career with the Waves when she was 11 years old and has enjoyed the smiles that every consecutive season has brought. She loves being in the water, even on the cold days, and can't wait for other swimmers to find the same enjoyment she does.

When not at the pool, catch Katia making vegan food, dreaming about being a chicken farmer, or spending time on the trails. She prefers sleeping under the stars more than sleeping in a bed and is always ready for an adventure. She will study environmental science at UW Madison Fall 2019.

Katia is looking forward to sunny days on the pool deck helping swimmers reach their goals!

Kate Ossmann

Kate enjoys spending time with her son and family. They enjoy being outside, going swimming, riding bikes, and going on adventures.
