Nick Nager

Head Swim Coach

Email

My name is Nick Nager and I am excited to be the Head Swim Coach for the Goodman Waves this season. This is my sixth season with the Waves. My foray into the sport of swimming began right here at the Goodman Pool when I was fourteen; before the Waves was even an official swim team. Despite the lack of competition and donuts from concessions, I decided that swimming was the sport for me and continued along my aquatic path at East High School, on the Waves, and on the UW Madison’s Swim and Water Polo club teams.

I have been a Waves coach for four years now and can confidently say that the Waves is the best team to be a part of. This year, I am aiming to stress the importance of hard work, self-growth and a fun team atmosphere for all Waves athletes. Usually, when I am not swimming you can find me curled up alongside my cat George or traversing around Madison on my bicycle in search of the perfect cheese curd. If you want to get to know me better, please come up and say hi at any time!

Elise is thrilled to be coaching for the Goodman Waves this season.

She started swimming in the All City League when she was 8 years old, first for Monona and then for Maple Bluff. She has club and high school swimming experience. Her senior year at East High School, Coach Caleb was her coach! She enjoys being outside, hanging out around the pool and beaches, and playing for the Wisconsin Women's Water Polo team. She currently attends UW-Madison and is planning on majoring in Sociology and obtaining a certificate in Gender and Women's Studies.

She looks forward to an awesome summer filled with laughter and fun!

This is Zach's first year coaching for the Goodman Waves and he couldn’t be more excited! He started swimming his freshman year of high school and has loved it ever since. He is currently swimming for UW-Stevens Point and he can’t wait to pass down his knowledge of swimming to the eager swimmers of the Goodman Waves!

Besides swimming, he also loves to bike. You can find him going for a stroll on his road bike or riding fast down some dirt trails on his mountain bike. He loves to be outside and enjoy the nature we have around us. On a rainy day, you can find him climbing some routes in Boulder’s Climbing Gym.

Zach is looking forward to seeing the swimmers on the pool deck!

Maddie is excited to be a new coach this year! She started competitive swimming with the Goodman Waves at age 11, and also swam for Badger Aquatics Club (BAC) and at LaFollette High School for four years. She loves this amazing sport because of the support and positivity it has given her.

She wants to be part of the Goodman coach team because this team means so much to her. Her goal this year is to make sure everyone has fun, makes new friends and learns something new every day. Her hobbies include camping, walking her dog Ellie Mae, going to the library in search of some scary novels, and swimming of course!

Josh started swimming competitively at the age of 9 at the West Suburban YMCA in Milwaukee. Continuing through high school at the University School of Milwaukee, he swam every year and was the team captain his senior season. Josh loves to be around the pool and outside in the sun!

Josh currently studies Aerospace Engineering at UW-Madison and will accept any paper airplane-making challenge thrown his way. He is looking forward to a great season.

Caitlin is excited to be a part of the Goodman Waves coaching team this summer. She has loved the water for as long as she can remember. Her competitive swimming career began when she was 5 years old when she joined the East YMCA (MEYO) club team. She was hooked! She continued to swim competitively year-round through high school. During the summers she swam for Monona Swim and Dive and Maple Bluff. Once in high school, she swam for the LaFollette Lancers. She started teaching swimming lessons right after she turned 16. When she is not at the pool she enjoys reading a good book and making banana bread. She looks forward to a fantastic swimming-filled summer with the Goodman Waves!

Tyler Moser

Tyler began competitively swimming in 2000 at the age of seven. During the winter, he swam with the Green County Golden Gators until 2006. Over the summers, he swam with the Monroe Area Swim Team (MAST) until 2009. In his final summer of swimming, he started coaching for MAST and continued to serve as an assistant coach until 2012. In 2013 he served as the Co-Head Coach of MAST alongside his mother, Linda. In 2015, Tyler began helping out with the YDC United Swim Team, with this past year being his second year of coaching. Tyler also served as the Assistant Coach of the Monroe/New Glarus High School Girls Swim Team for two years, where his mother, Linda, is the Head Coach.

Kate Ossmann

Head Dive Coach

Email

Kate is a long-time friend of the Goodman Pool and the Waves. She has taught swim and dive lessons at the Goodman Pool for nine summers. She dove for Monona Swim & Dive Club for seven summer seasons and competed in the All City Dive Meet. She is very excited to bring her experience to the Waves Dive Team.

During the off-season, Kate is a lead preschool teacher at a local daycare. Teaching kids is her passion and brightens her day. She loves helping kids achieve and showing them they can do things they didn't believe they could do. For her, there's no greater feeling then when a kid gains confidence and believes in themselves.

When Kate’s not working she enjoys spending time with her son and family. They enjoy being outside, swimming, bike riding, and going on adventures.

Assistant Dive Coach

This is Gabby's third year at the Goodman Pool, and second as a coach. Before coming to Goodman, she began her diving career at age seven for the High Point Swim Club and continued until she was 15. Diving has always been a huge part of her summers, and she is so excited for the opportunity to coach all of the new and returning athletes this year! Besides diving, she also coaches high school girls' lacrosse, figure skating, and power skating for local hockey teams. She loves all sports, so when she is not at the pool, you can find her playing ultimate frisbee, lacrosse, biking, or participating in nearly every activity that involves water.

During the school year, she take classes at UW-Madison where she studies Spanish and Genetics. Diving is a great way to take a break from all of that studying and have some fun, so stop by the pool because she would love to have you on the team!
