Jacob Hinsley, also known as J.T., a college junior currently taking courses at Pellissippi as he prepares to transfer to Carson Newman University studying linguistic with focus in Arabic and a minor in Leadership through Army ROTC. He graduated high school from Berean Christian, swimming five years for Berean’s swim team. J.T. currently lives in Maryville, TN where he swam for Prime Aquatics swim club. J.T. swam competitively for 13 years, setting multiple records in SMI and the KMISL Championships before joining a USA club team, where he qualified for South Easterns, Sectionals, and swimming at NCSA Junior Nationals.
J.T.’s coaching career began at Berean when he was medically unable to swim and was asked to teach others to swim who had never before done so, volunteer coaching at Crestwood Hills, and last year at BHEA swim club.
Throughout his swimming career, he counts Berean Swim Team as the greatest experience. He wants to give back to the school and swim team that meant so much and gave so much to him.
