Meghan began working for Biloxi Public
Schools at the beginning of the 2016-2017 school year as a
special education teacher and head girls swim coach. Soon
after, she was asked by district administration if she
would be willing to move to the pool full time to "build the
program" for Biloxi Schools Aquatics.
Coach Meghan was born and raised
in Biloxi and her Indian Pride runs deep. Her parents were
both Biloxi Indians, as was her younger brother. She attended
Lopez Elementary, Michel Middle School, and Biloxi High School.
She competed all six of her high school years for the
Biloxi High School Swim Team and was part of the 1998, 2001, 2002,
2003, and 2004 State Championship teams. She received her
bachelors degree in Sport Coaching Education from the University of
Southern Mississippi and her masters degree in Special Education
from Grand Canyon University.
Coach Meghan has had an exciting
start to her coaching career in high performance swim
coaching and has traveled the world studying her trade and
learning from the best athletes and coaches in the sport. She
has been a part of the development of nationally ranked age
group swimmers and has helped grow programs from less than
50 to 400+. She was Head Age Group Coach
at Surrey Park Swim Club in Melbourne, Australia; Head
Age Group Coach at Team Santa Monica in Santa Monica,
California; Team Manager and Coach at Swim with Heart's
Special Needs and Masters swim team in Santa Monica,
California; and Head Age Group Coach at Beach Cities
Swimming in Redondo Beach, California.
After 10 years of high
performance coaching and travel, Coach Meghan has returned to her
alma mater to share her knowledge, give back, and continue to
learn. Coach Meghan believes in developing the whole athlete
through grit, confidence and character. She coaches with a
quality over quantity approach and is dedicated and invested
in her athletes and families. She is passionate about the
sport of swimming and believes that water is the great equalizer.
Coach Meghan is excited about this new chapter for Biloxi
Indian Swimming and the Indian Nation!

Christine A Field
Coach Christine began working for Biloxi Public Schools during
the 2016-2017 school year as Special Education teacher.
She was born and raised in Biloxi and attended St. James
Elementary school, Michel 7th grade, Biloxi Junior
High, and graduated from Biloxi High School in 2012. She was a part
of the Biloxi High School Swim Team from 2007-2012, ending her
swimming career after she won the 500 freestyle. She was in
the founding class for B.E.S.T when it was established in 2009 and
swam year round until she graduated. She received her
bachelor’s degree in Sports Pedagogy from Mississippi State
University and graduated a die hard BULLDOG FAN!
Coach Christine's teaching and coaching journey has just begun
and she is excited to expand her knowledge in order to pass it
along. She believes that every student has the ability to learn and
grow when given the appropriate environment and

Coach Jamie began working for the Biloxi High School Swim Team in 1999 and coached the program until leaving for college in 2001. He returned after college in 2006 being hired by the City of Biloxi to run the Natatorium. He quickly resumed his duties with the BHS swim team and once again assisted with the task of helping with the rebuild of the swimming programs after Hurricane Katrina. Assisting the former coaching staff the numbers continued to grow steadily each year. He then took over the program as head coach for the boys’ team in 2015.
Coach Jamie was born and raised in Biloxi in the Sunkist area. He attended Beauvoir Elementary, Fernwood Middle School, and Biloxi High School c/0 1997. He then attended the University of Southern Mississippi and received his bachelor’s degree and then attended the University of Mississippi and received his master’s degree. He now works with the City of Biloxi Parks & Recreation Department as the Recreation Superintendent and is also the head coach of the Biloxi Elite Swim Team, the Mississippi Gulf Coast’s premier year-round USA Swimming program.
Coach Jamie has been a part of swimming on the Mississippi Gulf Coast/Biloxi area his entire life. Growing up swimming with the Biloxi Red Tide swim team, the SURF swim team, and the Biloxi High swim team he has returned to give back his vast knowledge to his Alma matter and help build a championship program.
Tanja has been working
for the City of Biloxi Department of Parks and Recreation since
1999. She started working as a lifeguard and eventually began
coaching swimming for the City of Biloxi with many of it's
different teams. In 2010 she started coaching with the Biloxi
Elite Swim Team. She served as an assistant coach for the MS
Zones Team in 2012 and 2013. Tanja is an ASCA Level II
Professional Competitive Swim Coach and an American Red Cross Water
She started her
swimming career at the age of 11, swimming for the Steyr Swim team
in her hometown of Steyr Austria. She swam well enought to
compete in the Childrens World Championship where she finished 8th
in the 100 Breaststroke. Tanja was selected for the 1980
Austrian Olympic Team in Breast Stroke. Tanja also played
water polo in Memmingen Germany and was a member of the Life
Saving/Life Guarding team where her team finished 2nd at the
Coach Tanja has been
working with the BHS Swim Team since 2015.
