Ross Tollefson

Ross has been surrounded by swimming from a young age. Growing up in Garrett Park, he swam for the Ladybugs from 1996-2008. During that time, he has held various coaching positions in NCAP, Tollefson Swimming, and GPST. Ross swam for the Illinois Wesleyan Titans, a school from which he now has a degree in music. Ross has held the assistant coach position at Garrett Park for six years. He is honored to lead the Ladybugs as head coach for his fifth year.

Courtney Bruch

Courtney is excited for her first year as an assistant coach of the Ladybugs! She swam for GPST from 2001-2015, providing help as a Pre-Team coach during later years. Courtney graduated this April from the University of Pittsburgh with a degree in Media and Professional Communications and a minor in Studio Arts. While at Pitt, she was a 4-year member and senior captain of the Women’s Club Lacrosse team. She has experience coaching swimming, lacrosse, soccer, and basketball and can’t wait for her season with the Ladybugs to start! 

 

Tommy Williams

Tommy is currently a senior at the University of Maryland where he studies Secondary Education and History.  Following his Bachelor’s degree, he looks forward to pursuing a Master’s degree in education.  This will be his first summer coaching for the Garret Park Swim Team, and his first summer coaching in the MCSL.  He spent 12 summers swimming for Cedarbrook in Kensington, another club with a rich MCSL tradition.  He has also coached Gonzaga’s freshman water polo team for the past 3 seasons, and is a current member on UMD’s club water polo team.  He has spent his whole life in Kensington with his two parents and younger brother.    

 
 

Katie Hickey

Katie Hickey is returning to the ladybugs as a coach after swimming for the team from 2005-2016. She will be heading into her junior year at Salisbury University in the fall (go gulls!) with a major in business with a track in Sports Management. Katie was a lifeguard and operator of Garrett Park for the past couple summers and has been a part of the Garrett Park community for longer than she can remember! She’s so excited for the upcoming season with the ladybugs! 

Kailee Goldberg

Assistant Coach/Pre-Team Coach

Kailee is very excited to be returning for her fourth year of coaching the Garrett Park Swim Team. She is a rising senior at Walter Johnson High School and has been swimming with the team since she was 7. During the off-season she teaches in water lessons and coaches stroke&turn and training endurance classes with Tollefson Swimming. She also loves participating in the WJ S*T*A*G*E program and music department, and she is in the WJ co-ed a-cappella group Red Velvet. She is absolutely ecstatic to be coaching on deck and in water this summer!

Holly Heaton

Holly first became a ladybug in 2006 at the age of 4. She loves swimming and spends a great deal of time in the water herself. In addition to swimming for the ladybugs each summer, Holly has trained with the RMSC's National Development Group and Tollefson swim team year round. She has helped out with pre-team the last few summers and is very excited to be a pre-team coach for the third summer. Holly is a rising 11th grader at WJ high school. She is looking forward to a great season with all her fellow ladybugs!

Sophia Abels

Sophia is a rising 10th grader at WJ High School. During the summer, she spends most of her time at the pool and at the beach. She started swimming at the age of 4.  She swims year round for Tollefson Swim team.  She is very excited to be coaching pre-team again this year!

 

Quinn Harris

Quinn is a rising 10th grader at WJ high school. She has been a ladybug since age 5 and has swam year round since age 6, starting on Tollefson swim team at age 9. Last year Quinn helped out with the pre-team. She is super excited to be coaching the pre-team again this year.
