Akshay Gandhi

Coach Gandhi brings with him dynamic experience as a swimmer and coach. Some highlights are below:

  • MCSL and PVS-born and bred (Wootton High School Grad, Stonebridge Sharks MCSL summer swimmer and RMSC year-round swimmer)
  • High school science teacher relocating back to Montgomery County after teaching and coaching in Anne Arundel County
  • Two years, coach, Naval Academy Aquatics Club
  • Three year, coach and Aquatics Director, Bay Ridge Marlins Swim Team
  • Four years, assistant coach, Annapolis Senior High School Swim Team
  • Four years-member, two years-Vice President, UMD Club Swim Team
  • Four years-member, National Training Group, Rockville Montgomery Swim Club
  • Four years-member, one year-Captain, Thomas S. Wootton High School Swim Team
  • Ten years-member, four years-assistant coach, Stonebridge Sharks Swim Team

This is Coach Gandhi's second year coaching Tallyho and we are excited to have him back!

Ellen L. Newbold

Ellen is excited to return to Tallyho for her 10th season and second year coaching! She is going into her senior year at Winston Churchill High School, where she is on the swim team. Ellen has also swam for RMSC for many years; and has been the head coach of the pre-team program at Tallyho for 5 years. Ellen can't wait to be back on the coaching staff for the 2019 season as an assistant coach!

Lexi D Cochran

Lexi has been a Tallyho Fox her whole life and is excited to join the coaching crew! She has been a member of the Tallyho Swim Team for 13 years, ay ear-round swimmer for 12 years, has spent 3 years as a member of All Star Aquatics National Training Group, and she has been a member of the Churchill High School Swim Team for 4 years.  Lexi has been a lifeguard at Tallyho for 4 years, and has been pool operator for 1 year.  She is now a freshman at University of Maryland studying mechanical engineering.

Ian Rosenthal

Ian is excited to return to Tallyho for his 18th season! He is a recent graduate of Winston Churchill High School and will be attending the University of Maryland in the Fall. During high school, Ian swam for the varsity team and was one of the captains of the varsity lacrosse team. He also swam for RMSC and played club lacrosse. Coaching Pre-Team and providing private lessons has given Ian a great foundation and he is thrilled to be working with the Tallyho Foxes as an Assistant Coach!

Daniel Mats Nagard

As a rising senior at Winston Churchill High School, Daniel is really excited to return for his 5th season as a swimmer and first one as a coach! Daniel has been swimming competitively for about 12 years and is currently swimming for NCAP. He has competed in both the NCSA Junior Nationals and the Swedish Junior Nationals. Daniel is a huge fan of the Tallyho team spirit and loves the pasta dinners, the cheers (Bonzai in particular), and the team lunches, and he can’t wait to help coach this amazing team this summer!

Christina Maria Karayianis

Christie knew she couldn’t stay away from the Fox family, so she decided to come back as an assistant coach! Christie is a rising sophomore at the University of Maryland, College Park. She has been a swimmer for 16 years on various summer swim teams, and a club swimmer on RMSC. During high school, Christie swam for Churchill Swim and Dive and was on the Tallyho swim team. She’s excited for an awesome summer with lots of Tallyho spirit! Go Ho!
