I am so excited to join the TL Orca Family. I began my career in Aquatics at the TL Rec Pool, as a lifeguard, swim instructor and pool manager. I started coaching swimming almost 20 years ago. I have coached with Rolling Hills, Riptide and Marin Pirates. I spent the majority of my coaching time with Marin Pirates. I was fortunate to have the opportunity to coach all age groups with them. I also coached San Marin High Swimming for four years. I teach PE at Vallecito and have a 15 year old daughter who is a sophomore at TLHS. I am looking forward to a fantastic season!
Daniel began coaching for the Orcas in 2013, where he also swam as a 15-18 and helped the Orcas to a third place finish. He is honored to have the chance to come back on deck and coach his favorite swimmers. Daniel grew up swimming on the Marinwood Waterdevils, winning countless high point awards and coaches awards for his age group. Daniel played water polo and swam at Marin Catholic High School. He graduated in 2013, with two MCAL water polo championships (2012&2013) under his belt. His senior season, as a captain, he led his team to the NCS championship game, where Marin Catholic became the first ever Marin team to win a NCS water polo championship. Daniel also spent a year at Whittier College, playing water polo and swimming. His water polo team won the SCIAC championship, and made their first ever NCAA appearance. Daniel had two top ten times in school history for the Whittier swim team (100 fly, and 100 back). Daniel plans to transfer to a UC or State school to continue his water polo and swimming careers. Daniel could not be happier to spend another season with the Orcas!
