Maple Hills Marlins - Coaching Staff 2022 Head Coach - Patrick GaiI am so excited to be back for my second season with the Marlins. I have been involved with Aquatics for most of my life. I played water polo and swam through high school and college, I also continue to play in adult leagues in the greater Seattle area. I have worked in education for 15+ years. I spent 10 years teaching high school social studies in the California Bay Area, where I also coached varsity water polo and swimming. Additionally, I have spent 7 summers coaching with city swim leagues like the Maple Hills Marlins. Most of my year is spent as the dean of students at Skyline High School, On top of being the dean, I coach for the Skyline boys and girls swim team and I am the advisor for Skyline's Link Crew and Skyline's National Honor Society. Community involvement and service is a cornerstone of my personal philosophy, and why I am excited to continue to immerse myself and my family into the Maple Hills community. We are excited to return for another fun swim season. I am looking forward to our summer together and I look forward to seeing you all at the pool soon.
Nate Harris - Assistant Coach I've been swimming for
over 12 years. I am finishing my Sophomore year at Central
Washington University, where I am majoring in mechanical
engineering. I am also currently a swimmer, coach, and officer on
the CWU Swim Club. My favorite stroke is butterfly, but I also like
the IM. I really enjoyed the supportive and friendly environment
when I coached last summer and I'm excited for another great
season!

Shaye Agnew - Assistant Coach I joined Maple Hills Marlins when I was 7 and just last summer, wrapped up my 11th year as a captain. I swam for 4 years as a varsity swimmer on the Liberty High School swim team, and I just concluded my first year on the Whitman College swim team. I am currently undecided on what I want to study, but can’t wait to start my sophomore year in September. Some of you may know me from swim lessons at Agnew Aquatics, where I have been working for the last 3 years (also where I learned to swim). My favorite strokes are freestyle and backstroke, you’ll never catch me swimming breast. Some of my favorite summer memories have been here at this pool, whether it’s throwing greasy watermelons around, handing out 1st place duckies, or cheering on a competitive relay. I can’t wait to keep these fun traditions going and a coach some awesome swimmers this summer!
