Jeff Float

Otters Head Coach

Coach Jeff is thrilled to be returning to Arden Hills ... his home for 18 years. For nearly a quarter-century, Jeff equally divided being the Head Coach & Aquatics Director at Laguna Creek Sports Club and Gold River. Starting as a 7-8 competitor, Jeff went on to graduate from Jesuit & USC while swimming under the legendary Olympic Coach Sherm Chavoor here at Arden Hills. At his prime, Jeff secured membership on .80's Team USA bound for Moscow. Politics intervened; the US boycotted those Games. With great fortunate & determination, Jeff again clinched a berth for LA’s .84 Olympics, where he was named peer-elected Captain. Touched out for the bronze by 4/10ths of a second in the 200m free, the next day Jeff & his teammates were pitted against the heavily-favored West Germans in the 4x200m free relay. Now known as the third most exciting relay in history, they were first to the wall by 4/100ths of a second, smashed the world record by five whole seconds and captured Gold Medals! This triumphant past paved the way to Coach Jeff's incredibly rewarding future … instilling in today's youth his lifelong passion for the sport that has been so good to him. Jeff & his wife Jan BELIEVE in Arden Hills' past, present & future!

Coach Jen, a San Jose native, started competing at age four and continued through high school on local swim & water polo teams. Comingling her natural love of water with natural love of teaching, she’s been an instructor for two decades and a coach for eight years. This passion never fades! Coach Jen, former head age-group coach of Valley Splash Aquatics [USA team] & Silver Creek Valley Country Club [rec team], both San Jose-based, has experienced the joy of synergy between coach/swimmer. In her second year at SCVCC, Jen embraced 30 brand new Sharks, taught each of them all four strokes, and churned out race-ready swimmers -- all before the season even began! And many of them then went on to compete at elite levels. "Just do your best," is Coach Jen's mantra. While coaching these two burgeoning teams, Coach Jen traveled with the Pacific Coach All-Stars Team and led the 10&U boys in Western Zone meets. Equipped with this stellar background, Jen comes to us with lots of tricks of the training trade and is eager to share them … just as we are eager to learn them. Welcome aboard! Coach Jen BELIEVES in personal bests!

Cody Crossland

Senior Assistant Coach

Coach Cody, a devoted student of kinesiology, fits its definition to a core: He’s all about movement! Though Cody swam competitively for only three years of age eligibility, he took off at an Ultra-Short Race Pace and never looked back. Now leading an actively amphibious lifestyle, Cody’s experience includes five years as a group & private instructor at the YMCA, nine as a lifeguard, six as a lifeguard-certification instructor and, rounding out the numbers, seven as an Otters coach and seven as a private one-on-one trainer in the water & in the gym. Personal training, in particular, is especially gratifying to Cody. When using proper form, the more you move, the improve you improve; and those fast paced results are fun to watch. Planning to join the Coast Guard, Coach Cody is excited to begin the grueling training regimen and testing protocols required to ultimately become a certified rescue swimmer. As an intense fitness fan, Cody is up for any challenge at any time, which is exactly what this worthy profession entails. Coach Cody BELIEVES in helping others through movement!

Matthew Lynch

Welcome back, Coach Matt! Having just completed his freshman year at San Diego State University, Matt is looking forward to his second season as an Otters coach. After graduating from Rio Americano High School in .19, Matt did a bit of traveling [and open water swimming] in the Greek Islands. Then he embarked on his first year of coaching before packing up & heading down to pursue a major in kinesiology. From San Diego, Matt has a solid goal of launching into a fulfilling career as a physical therapist. What an asset he’ll be to future clients/patients! Starting out as a four-year-old Otter Pup, Coach Matt switched teams, swam for the Rio del Oro Rapids, and came on back to Arden Hills at age 11. It’s fair to say that Matt is an all-round sports enthusiast. If he’s not playing basketball, he’s coaching it. If he’s not watching football, he’s playing it. If he’s not swimming, he’s teaching it. To that end, Coach Matt thoroughly enjoys one-on-one training sessions, as does any swimmer who is lucky enough to be engaged with him. Matt makes it look easy & keeps it fun! As an 18-year-old, this is Coach Matt’s last year competing as an Otter in the Water. Coach Matt BELIEVES in mind/body/spirit!

Tylee Schaedler-Harrison

Junior Assistant Coach

Coach Tylee jumped in as a three-year-old Otter and, a solid decade later, has never left! Harkening back to those tadpole days, when 25 yards looked like a mile, has proven beneficial to Tylee, now entering her third season as a junior assistant. She remembers well those overwhelming jitters and loves to assist our fledgling athletes turn that nervous energy into competitive energy. Combining that with good technique, then they’re ready to fly! Post-graduation from Christian Brothers High School this year, Coach Tylee will spend the spring & summer with us before heading down as a freshman to the University of Arizona … a big swim school! In addition to coaching & swimming, Tylee fills her days on campus enjoying the video production program and, off campus, representing CB as one of its ambassadors. Tylee’s insatiable desire to continue creating videos, currently transcending specific genres, has led her to set lofty future goals. She’s ecstatic to be reaching higher to attain these while concomitantly focused upon our Otters reaching higher to attain theirs! Coach Tylee BELIEVES in goal setting!

Gianna Nocetti

Junior Assistant Coach

At age five, Coach Gianna discovered her competitive nature, first as an Otter and then as a water polo player. Ascending through the ranks, she’s been active in rec, year-round & high school … and is now excited to be a first-year coach. As a participant, in 2018 Gianna competed on USA Water Polo’s Cadet National Team; and as a coach, for two-and-one-half years she assisted the American River Water Polo Club. All of this athleticism comes as no surprise, however. Gianna’s father is the CIF Executive Director, her mother coaches volleyball, one sister rows in college while the other plays volleyball, and her brother is swimming in the same lanes as his sisters. Past & present Otters all! Entering her senior year at Rio Americano High School, Coach Gianna loves the engineering program and is planning a future in the electrical, mechanical or chemical field. TBD. At present, in addition to being academically driven, collegiate recruiters are beckoning Gianna to play water polo. During leisure hours, she is a voracious reader, enjoys alternative music, and relishes time spent with friends & family. Coach Gianna BELIEVES in being well-rounded!

Presleigh Seitz

Junior Assistant Coach

Diving into her fourth year as an Otters coach, Presleigh, a junior at St. Francis High School, is passionate about teaching the little ones just how fun swimming can be. After all, she’s competed here for 11 years, starting at age five under Coach Adric. Coach Presleigh enjoys an array of curricular & extra-curricular activities. An ardent student, Presleigh has developed keen interests in the worlds of math & science and hopes to one day use her business acumen in the biotech industry. Post HS grad, Presleigh intends to pursue higher education in Southern CA, where she’ll combine her love of beaches & books. Coach Presleigh is grateful for philanthropic endeavors, namely serving on the Ronald McDonald House Teen Council & the Teen Circle at Saint John’s Program for Real Change. Presleigh currently swims for St. Francis HS and participated on its volleyball & cross-country teams. When not in student or coach mode, she is likely to be found socializing with friends. Presleigh, the eldest of three sisters, cherishes her family, including its 10-year-old Bichon, Spencer. Coach Presleigh BELIEVES in the Otters, too!

Connor Lewis

Junior Assistant Coach

Coach Connor, now on-deck for a second season, reports that his favorite aspect of coaching is watching his young protégés grow & improve. From a four-year-old Rio del Oro Rapid to an Arden Park Dolphin & finally to an Arden Hills Otter, Connor has certainly experienced his own fair share of growth & improvement. Akin to the water, Connor is now embracing his high school years at Jesuit, where he’ll be a sophomore this fall and, along with his classmates, will continue growing into its tagline: Men for Others. Such golden opportunities! Coach Connor has his swim stats down, but he’s also a prolific writer. With a passion for the English language, his goal is to become a TV or movie screenwriter. As is true of our entire staff, time spent with family & friends is Connor’s first priority; but he also manages to fit in HS swimming, student council, playing the piano & traveling [NYC, WA DC, Turks & Caicos, London, Paris, Italy ... with dual Canadian citizenship]. Coach Connor knows -- and shares with others -- what it means to BELIEVE & ACHIEVE!
