Otters Head Coach
Adric is excited to be returning for his 10th
year of coaching at Arden Hills, and his 8th as Otters Head Coach.
Along with his role as Otters Head Coach, Adric is also the Arden
Hills Aquatics Director, Head Coach of year-round Arden Hills
Swimming and coaches with the Arden Hills Elite Swim Academy (ESA).
Adric brings many years of NorCal Swim League swimming and
coaching experience; he first swam at Del Norte for 4 years before
arriving at Arden Hills in the year 2000. Adric swam at Arden Hills
for 9 years, including 7 with the Otters.
However, Adric quit swimming at age 11 due to burnout and a loss of motivation in the sport. He returned to swim 2 years later at age 13 with a renewed vigor and determination that still burns to this day.
Adric’s return to swim helped shape his coaching philosophy today. His coaching goal is to make every aspect of swim that he did not care for, enjoyable for his team. Peer relationships, coach-swimmer interactions, fun and winning are just some of the components Adric has strived to improve. The Otters follow Coach Adric’s two main principles:
1) Have fun
2) Be successful
The Otters have proven over the past few years that it is possible to have a successful team where the swimmers enjoy their teammates, coaches, meets and practice.
Under Adric’s guidance, the Otters have enjoyed tremendous growth and success - the team has risen from averaging 139 swimmers per season to over 200. Among the accomplishments, the Otters have amassed a 21-2 conference record, 4 undefeated seasons, 5 -1st place season trophies, 1st/2nd place finishes in all seasons including 3 Championships victories and more! In the previous 5 seasons (2014-2018), Otters swimmers have broken records an unbelievably astonishing 114 times.
Adric graduated as a Business Honors student from Sacramento State with a degree in Financial Planning. He holds zero Otters team records because his swimmers are better than he was!
