Taylor is excited to be returning to the Bucs this season as Co-Head Coach. Taylor grew up in Brookdale, right behind Brookdale Pool, and some of her fondest memories are centered around the time she spent at the pool. Taylor swam for the Brookdale Bucs beginning at age 7 until she was 18, earning her the Buc of a Lifetime Award. When she reached the age of 15, she became a Junior Coach for the swim team and eventually worked her way up to Age Group Coach and Assistant Head Coach throughout her 10 years of coaching for the Bucs. In addition to swimming for Brookdale, she also swam and played water polo at Waubonsie Valley High School.
Taylor attended the University of Iowa, majoring in English for Secondary Education, and minoring in Spanish. While there, she obtained her English as a Second Language Endorsement qualifying her to teach English to non-native speakers. Taylor currently works as a high school English teacher at York Community High School in Elmhurst, IL, and lives in Wheaton. She is so excited to have a reason to come back to the very best neighborhood this summer after her parents recently moved from Brookdale. Taylor spent the last couple of years obtaining her first master's degree through Elmhurst College in Teacher Leadership with a Special Education Endorsement. She is now back in school for a second master's degree in Literacy with a Reading Specialist Endorsement. Taylor continued to be passionate about coaching during her short time away from the Bucs and also coaches the York Girl's Swim Team and the York Girl's Water Polo Team.
Taylor is passionate about building a competitive team with a strong work and play balance. She is thrilled to work with a group of coaches comprised of many of her first "6 and Under" swimmers, and the opportunity to come full circle with a team that she has a personal connection to, in a place that is truly home. Go Bucs!
