We are happy to introduce our 2021 coaches. Andy Rosenthal, Karine Zeidan, Maddy Adams, and Emma Stern are returning to coach the Rockshire Sharks and provide another exceptional and fun-filled summer swim team experience! Maddy also will be our Pre Team Head Coach. We are thrilled to have such an energetic and dedicated group of coaches to lead our Rockshire Sharks!

Andy Rosenthal

Head Coach


Head Coach Andy Rosenthal is excited for his 7th   season with the Rockshire Sharks!  In the winter, Andy works for Nation’s Capital Swim Club (NCAP), where he is the Head Coach of the Bronze I and Silver II groups at the American University site.  Andy attended Middlebury College, where he was a four year member of the varsity swim team.  He also swam competitively for NCAP, Winston Churchill High School and the Tallyho Swim Club.  Andy is thrilled to be back at Rockshire and is looking forward to another fun summer! Go Sharks!

Karine Zeidan

Assistant Head Coach


Assistant Head Coach Karine Zeidan returns for her 5th summer with the Sharks. She has been swimming with NCAP since the age of 12. She swam with Tim Kelly from when she was 16 until 18.  She graduated from Case Western Reserve University in 2019 and and served as captain of the women’s swim team during her senior year.  In the winter, Karine coaches for Nation's Capital Swim Club, working with the Bronze I group at the American University site. Karine is looking forward to another great summer and the coach's relay.  Go Sharks!

Maddy Adams

Assistant Coach/Pre-Team Coach


Assistant coach and pre-team coach Maddy Adams has recently finished her first year at St. Mary's College of Maryland, where she studies environmental science and anthropology. She returns to Rockshire as a coach after 10 years as a swimmer, and could not be more excited to be back with the sharks. She swam with Joe Flaherty's dolphins for 9 years, and also swam on the Varsity team at Wootton high school. She also coached at JFD for 5 years and at Rockshire as a junior coach for 4 years. At St. Mary's, she continues to coach for the local kids, and is a member of the varsity rowing team. She is thrilled to coach this season, and hopes that everyone is ready for a fantastic summer. Emma Stern

Assistant Coach


Assistant coach Emma Stern is happy to be returning to coach the Rockshire Sharks for a 2 nd  summer. She just finished her sophomore year at the University of Massachusetts studying animal science and natural resource conservation. Emma spent 12 summers as a Rockshire swimmer and one as a junior coach. She also spent time swimming for Fins, Joe Flaherty’s dolphins, and the Wootton varsity team over the years. She loves helping out with team events and working with new and returning swimmers. She hopes this summer brings lots of fun and even bigger team spirit. Go Sharks!
