I started swimming when I was 8 years old. I started swimming with the Flying Ducks in 2013 and aged out in 2016. I have one year experience as a swim instructor at Kids First Swim School, teaching students aged from 6 months to 60 years old I was Captain of my high school varsity swim team. I was a volunteer aide for a summer and winter clinics. This is my 2nd year as a coach. This season I am coaching Group 4 and Stroke Clincs. I passionately love the sport of swimming.
This summer marks Olivia’s 10th year with the Ducks! She
is very excited for her final year of summer league and looks
forward to co-coaching the Group 1 swimmers. Olivia’s
favorite stroke is backstroke and her favorite person in the whole
world is her mom. Go Ducks!
My favorite Pokemon is the Pikachu! Pika Pika :). And I was beaten in a staring contest with Uncle Slammy :(
I have been swimming for Ben Lomond Swim Team since 2009 and this
year I will be aging out. This is my third year as apart of the
coaching staff and I have loved every step.
During the off season I am in college and work as a swim Instructor and lifeguard. I truly love swimming and being a part of the Duck Family.
I have been a Flying Duck since 2006. This is my third-year as a BLST coach, co-coaching Group 2 this season after coaching Group 1 for two years. During the winter, I swam on the Osbourn High School Swim Team where I enjoyed swimming and eating excessive amounts of pasta and pancakes with high school friends. As a swimmer, I love the competition and excitement, but as a coach, I love seeing the young swimmers improve and grow their love for swimming.
Catherine "Cat" Purnell has been swimming on the Flying Ducks since 2007. She also swims for Nations Capital Swim Club - West and for Stonewall Jackson High School. This is her second year coaching, and she loves it! Cat is the coordinator for the beads and currently holds a several team records.
Coach Ari has been a member of the Duck family since she was 6 years old. She has been swimming with the Ducks every summer and also swam 2 years of winter swim with Occoquan. This is her 2nd year coaching Group 1 and she is very excited to see her swimmers progress technically and get faster over the rest of the summer!

I have been swimming with the Ben Lomond Swim Team since 2010. I have previously been an aide for winter clinics and am now coaching Group 1. In addition to swimming with the Flying Ducks, I also swim on the Colgan High School Swim Team. My goal for this season is for the swimmers to swim all four legal strokes and qualify for Divisionals. I am so excited to see what this season holds for us!
I started swimming with BLST in the summer of 2013. I have been a volunteer aid for winter clinics. I was on my high school swim team for four years. I am a water safety instructor at Kids First Swim School. What I enjoy most about BLST, is how close the families are with one another. We are all just one giant family.
