Austin Hopkins

Head Swim Coach

Email

My name is Austin Hopkins. I am a recent graduate of the Wright State University’s Master of Public Health Program. Prior to that, I graduated from Miami University with a BS in Health Promotion. I currently am serving as a long term substitute for Springboro Schools in Physical Education and Health for 1st and 6th grades. I have lived locally all of my life, and swam for Coffman YMCA for 11 years as well as Dunsinane for 11 years. I coached for DSC for 4 years and just finished my first year coaching for the YMCA. I am very excited to start coaching in the SSA again, and I am really looking forward to making it a fun and successful season. My goal for this summer is to build our sense of tea, as many of our swimmers come from different backgrounds in the area, while also developing strokes in a way that prepares the swimmers for winter seasons if that is what they choose. I will see everyone soon!

My name is Chloe Ruggiero, I am 20 years old, and I am going into my junior year at John Carroll University in Cleveland.

I fell in love with swimming when I was 3 years old as a Black Oak Killer Acorn. I started year round swimming with the WTRC Sharks at 6. When I was 16 I decided to swim for KEY. Currently I swim for John Carroll University. I was a 3 year varsity swimmer at Centerville High School and I have earned varsity for swimming in both my two years at John Carroll University.

I have taught swim lessons at Kids Are Tops for five years, and I have taught swim lessons at the Kettering YMCA for one year. Last summer I was a coach for NCR and was able to lead them to a few individual and relay victories at SSAs.

I am super excited to be a Woodhaven Coach this summer! I hope all of the kids fall in love with swimming like I did as a summer league swimmer. We are going to be unstoppable again this season! Go Warriors!

I am an upcoming senior at Springboro High School. I started swimming when I was 11 years old for SCCC and then Coffman YMCA, where I am currently. This is my third year on the CFY National Team and third year on Springboro Varsity team. I started swimming on a summer team just like this and it helped me be the person I am today.
