Kendra Kalvin: Head Coach

[email protected]

Hi, everyone! My name is Kendra Kalvin and I am very excited to begin my eleventh year coaching with the Stingrays. This summer I will be returning to the Stingrays as the Head Coach for my sixth summer. This team means a lot to me and has always been a huge part of my life!

To share a little about myself, I am in my fourth year of teaching after having graduated from UW-Eau Claire in May 2018. I am teaching first grade and absolutely loving it! Outside of school I enjoy reading and spending time with friends and family at our cabin.

I am so excited that we are able to swim this year! Please feel free to email, call or meet with me as I am more than happy to answer any questions, comments or concerns.

Halley Johnson: Assistant Coach, 15-18 Age Group Coach

[email protected]

Hello Stingrays! I am glad to be back for my fourth summer, as the Stingrays 15-18 age group coach! Coaching for the Stingrays has been an honor and I feel very grateful to have the opportunity to continue to instill the values the Stingrays have always represented.

Over the last decade I have spent my time coaching both College and High School teams as well as club and rec swimmers. I have enjoyed my time with all the teams or individuals I have coached, they have all taught me valuable lessons for life. What is so incredibly special about this team is the family bond that has been built within a great community. I have been a Stingray since I was 3, spending every summer deep in the Stingray way of life. Coming back, a decade later, to feel like I was coming home, like no time had passed, there’s no better feeling. So, needless to say, there is no place I would rather be at 5:30 in the morning then at the pool, ready to convince your teenager that getting into a lukewarm pool is way better than their warm cozy bed.

I am here for your swimmers, to make this their best experience. I believe communication is key, so please let me know if you have any questions, comments or concerns. Please do not hesitate to reach out to me via email, phone or with a heads up, stopping by after a practice. I am looking forward to a great summer, full of hard-work, dedication & fun! Go Sting!

Hannah Aegerter: Assistant Coach, 13-14 Age Group Coach

[email protected]

Hello Stingrays! My name is Hannah Aegerter, and I am so excited to be coming back to the XP coaching staff. I was the 11-12 age group coach a couple of summers ago and will be taking over my brother’s position as the 13-14 age group coach this season. I missed the Stingrays way too much last year and am beyond excited to be back!!

I am currently finishing up my junior year at the University of Illinois, where I am studying Molecular and Cellular Biology and am on the swim team.  When I am not swimming or studying, I love to go hiking, read, and spend time with friends. Can’t wait for the 2022 season to get started. Go Sting!

Ian Bohachek:  Assistant Coach, 11-12 Age Group Coach

[email protected]

My name is Ian Bohachek, and I’m super excited to be the 11-12 coach this year! This will be my 4th year coaching with the Stingrays, and my second year working with the 11-12 age group. I was a helper coach last year for the 11-12s, and I had a TON of fun, which is why I’m really excited to be the assistant coach for the 11-12s this season!

I am a freshman at UW-Madison studying geography, and I am a part of the swim club, where I have kept swimming semi-competitively. I really enjoy spending time outside, whether it’s hiking, running, or just sitting around a campfire with friends.

I have been a part of Stingrays since I was 6 years old, and this year will be my first time not swimming on the team, as I’m 19 now. Through those years, I was able to really see how amazing the team is for building a community that supports and encourages one another. I’m really excited for the 2022 season! Go Sting!

Forrest Peterson:  Assistant Coach, 9-10 Age Group Coach

[email protected]

Hi, I’m Forrest Peterson, a Sophomore at Calvin University, and I am excited to be a part of this year’s Cross Plains Stingrays coaching team! I have been on Stingrays for thirteen years and have loved every year even more than the last. I have no doubt this year will be another great year! I had so much fun getting to know everyone last year as the 9-10 coach, and I am excited to continue coaching many of the same smiling faces as the 9-10 coach this year! I can’t wait to see all the new faces as well as the many returning ones! I’m excited to use everything I learned from last year to make this season even better! We have a fantastic team and this year will be great!

In addition to being the 9-10 coach last year, I also swam on the Calvin University swim and dive team and through it have learned lots about coaching and set planning. Most of my thirteen years as a USA Swimming club swimmer I have qualified for State, and this past year I was able to swim at DIII NCAAs and become All American swimming in 2 top 8 relays. Other activities I enjoy include writing music, hiking, camping, solving puzzles and reading.

I hope that I will be able to use all that I have learned over my many years of swimming to help make our team stronger all while maintaining the fun atmosphere our team is known for. Last year we were able to make great progress towards having a normal swim season, and I hope this year is no different as we return to a nearly completely normal season! We are the best, and we will be the big number one! Watch out for our sting!

I have been swimming on the Stingrays since I was 8 and, I am very exited to be a helper coach again this summer. Lily Mair:  Helper Coach 11-12 and 8 & Under

Hi Stingrays! My name is Lily Mair and I am so excited to say that for my second year coaching, I will be a helper coach for the 11-12s! I started swimming for the Stingrays when I was 8 years old. After meeting new friends, creating many memories, and having coaches to look up to, I knew I wanted to be a part of the team as much as I could. I would love to create a similar experience that encourages swimmers to find ways to be a part of the Stingrays in their future.

I am a Sophomore at Middleton High School where I competed in varsity swim and participated in track. I also have been swimming year-round since I was 7 years old and currently swim for Madison Aquatic Club. Out of the water, I enjoy finding ways to be creative through art, hanging out with friends, and lifeguarding at the Cross Plains Pool. I can’t wait to meet everyone and to have an awesome 2022 Stingray season, let’s go CP!

I am a senior at Middleton High School and outside of swimming I like going on walks with my dog, traveling, bike rides, and hanging out with friends and family. The Stingray season is what I look most forward to every summer because it’s time that I get to spend with my close friends doing the sport I love. One thing I love most about the team is how close everyone becomes with one another as the season goes on. This team and community is so important to me and I couldn’t be more excited to contribute to it. Go Sting!
