Josh Murray

Head Coach

Hello, my name is Josh Murray and I am the head coach for the 2016 swim season.  My wife Jayme and our two children live in Monroe Ohio.  We enjoy spending quality time with our family and friends, reading, traveling and most of all cheering on The Ohio State Buckeyes.  I have my bachelor’s degree in Secondary Education from Miami University and my M.S in Special Education from Western Governors University. I currently work as an intervention specialist in the Princeton City School district, and have been with Princeton since 2008. I grew up swimming in the Westchester area and swam for Dutchland Woods, Lakota YMCA, and Fenwick H.S.  I began coaching for the Dutchland Woods Dolphins in 2001 and was both an assistant coach and head coach. I began coaching for the Lakota YMCA in 2007 and have been an age group coach, head coach, and lead color group coach.   I am excited to work with each of your children and focus on improving swimmers strokes, increasing endurance, dropping times, and most importantly creating a fun environment for each swimmer to develop and become the best swimmer they can be!!!  If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me at any time.

Heather Shooner

Assistant Coach

Heather began her swimming career at age four in Pennsylvania.  When her family moved to West Chester, Heather joined the Lakota Hills Wavemakers, where she remained for 10 years.  Heather also swam for Countryside YMCA where she was a part of the National Team.  She was also a four time State qualifier for Lakota High School, both individually and on relays.  Her best events consisted of the 500 and 1650 freestyle.  Heather graduated from Xavier University in 1999 with a Bachelor's in Social Work.  She has taught numerous levels of swim lessons, both privately and through the YMCA, Red Cross, and SwimAmerica programs.  Heather took the head coach position during the 2010 summer season and has enjoyed the experience immensely.  She lives in Liberty Twp. with her husband Joe and their two children, Levi and Audrey.  She hopes to continue sharing her knowledge and passion for swimming and is looking forward to another fun filled summer.  Go Wavemakers!
