Coaching Staff

Claire Galloway

Head Coach

Hello everyone! This is my 8th year coaching and 3rd year with the MacDolphins! I have been swimming competitively since the age of 9 with New Wave Swimming in the area. I now swim for University of Lynchburg (in Virginia)! I am a rising senior in college studying exercise physiology and coaching in pursuit of a graduate degree in Physical Therapy. My favorite stroke is breaststroke, and I qualified for NCAA in 100 breaststroke in 2020! When I am not swimming or at the pool coaching, you can find me either hiking, painting, or reading! I am looking forward to meeting you all and am looking forward to a great summer league season!

Hannah Frey

First Assistant Coach

My name is Hannah Frey and I have been in the water for as long as I can remember! I swam competitively for year-round and summer leagues during my child and early adulthood, and continued to swim in college at UNC Wilmington. Being so close to the beach, I loved swimming pier-to-pier and doing laps in the incredible recreation facility on campus. I graduated college in 2018 with a degree in English and Secondary Education and now teach at a high school in downtown Raleigh. My favorite stroke is butterfly because it is so beautiful and powerful. I love teaching drills to improve individual strokes. This will be my first year as an assistant coach with the MacDolphins and am looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you!

Madison Petschauer

Assistant Coach

Hi! My name is Madison Petschauer, I am a rising junior at the University of Redlands in Redlands, CA. I was a competitive swimmer for New Wave swimming for 8 years and I am now a colligate swimmer for the University of Redlands. I am studying Health Medicine and Society in hopes of going to dental school. The 100 fly is my favorite event to swim but I love swimming every stroke. In my free time you can find me spending time by the pool, reading a good book, swimming or hanging out with friends. This is my first season at MacGregor, and I am super excited to meet everyone!

Cameron Karkosa

Assistant Coach

My name is Cameron Karkoska and I’m excited to be an assistant coach for the 2022 season with the MacDolphins! I am a former competitive swimmer and have swum at both LSU and NC State and received a degree from each university. My bachelors from LSU is in sports administration and my masters from NC State is in communications. In my time swimming in college, I was an SEC finalist, and held several top ten times at each university that I swam at. Prior to attending college, I grew up swimming in Southern California for Irvine Novaquatics before moving out to Austin, Texas for a gap year in which I swam under Brendan Hansen at Austin Swim Club. My favorite event is the 200 breast, but I grew up sprinting so any stroke is fun for me. In my free time, I love to watch sports, go fishing, or travel! I’m so stoked to be working with you all this season!

Thank you for providing me the time throughout this process that you have! I’m so excited to be a member of your team!
