Devon Farmer

Assistant Coach

After nearly 10 years coaching year-round, I’m excited to shift gears and join the Round Hill Country Club coaching staff!  I’m excited for the energy, passion, and team spirit that surrounds the summer recreational environment.

My passion for teaching and coaching swimming began when I started teaching swim lessons at Swim America as a freshman in high school.  Since that first summer teaching lessons, I have continued teaching lessons in the Tri-Valley as a Private Swim Instructor.  I began coaching at the Pleasanton Seahawks in 2006 before heading off to Sonoma State.  After returning from Sonoma State in 2010 with degrees in Psychology and Human Development, I began coaching again for the Seahawks.  During my time coaching with the Seahawks, I worked with swimmers ages 6-16 ranging from the Novice to Pre-Senior level.  I had the opportunity to work with a range of skill levels from age group swimmers just beginning their competitive swim careers to those who qualified at the JO, Far Western and Sectional level.  Additionally, I had the opportunity to coach a swimmer who ranked Top 10 at the National Age Group level.

My love for swimming began at an early age when I joined a summer recreational team before joining the Pleasanton Seahawks year-round team at 9-years-old.  As a year-round swimmer I swam at the Sectional level in the distance free events.  I was captain for the Foothill High Swim Team for two years and a North Coast Section qualifier all four years of high school.  My interest in open water swimming began in high school and continues to this day.  I’ve competed in the Escape from Alcatraz, Tiburon Mile, Trans Tahoe Relay, and Lake Berryessa swims.  Additionally, I’ve traveled to Montenegro to participate in a week-long Swim Trek trip.

Peter Cromelin

He is also a substitute teacher in the Walnut Creek school district. Peter is currently spending the year in Bali, Indonesia traveling and teaching scuba diving. He'll be back this spring and we can't wait to have him join Team Heat!
