Age Group Coach 11-12
Coach Rachel is returning to Trails for her second season of
coaching. Rachel has been a swimmer on Trails for 14 years, and is
so excited to be on the coaching team! In addition to swimming on
Trails every summer she has also swam on Mundelien Mustangs swim
club and Sage YMCA Piranhas in the winter seasons. She loves to
work with kids of all ages and see them grow! Working as a
Lifeguard and swim instructor for the Crystal Lake park district
has helped her develop strong leadership skills. Rachel has 6
siblings on the team this year, and is looking forward to seeing
them in the pool. Also she had the opportunity to be a pre-school
teachers assistant for a school year which helped her learn to
teach to kids in many different ways and methods. She can't wait to
finally start coaching the swim family she grew up in!
Coach Rachel can be reached at email@example.com.
Age Group Coach 9-10
Coach Leena is returning to Trails for her second season of
coaching! Leena has been swimming for seven years. She started at
the YMCA swim team and swam four years varsity high school. She was
voted team captain for her senior year with the D155 girls swim
team. Leena swam her last two summers with Trails and wishes she
had known about it earlier, because the second she joined it felt
like she had been missing out on having a second family!
Leena also has been a lifeguard at LifeTime since she was 16 as
well as a swim instructor there, teaching kids from age 2-12 years
how to swim. She has enjoyed every second of it! Leena is super
excited to be coaching the 9-10 age group this season.
She attends Loyola University.
Coach Leena can be reached at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Age Group Coach 8&Under
We welcome Lauren to the coaching team this year as the
8&under age group coach! Lauren has been a swimmer on the
Trails swim team since the summer of 2009 and enjoys the family
atmosphere the team provides! The past two years she has assisted
the coaches at the beginning of the season with the younger
swimmers. Throughout her years of swimming, she has learned a lot
about the proper techniques and what makes a swimmer better. As a
coach, her goal is to share this knowledge with the swimmers. She
looks forward to providing a space where swimmers enjoy comig to
practice every morning, combining hard work with fun.
Assistant Coach, 11-12
We are excited to welcome Alec to the coaching team as an
Assistant Coach this summer! Alec has been a lifeguard and swim
instructor at our home pool in Algonquin. He has been swimming
since 2009 and has swam on Trails for the past 8 summers. He holds
seven Trails swim team records, as well as the Dundee-Crown high

swimming Illinois state medalist. He is looking forward to sharing
his passion and knowledge of swimming with our swimmers.
Assistant Coach, 10&Under
We are excited to welcome Elle to the coaching team this year as
an Assistant Coach! She started Trails in 2013 and is looking
forward to her 7th season. Elle has been a volunteer coach with the
Dundee Dolphins and you may have seen her on deck as a lifeguard or
giving lessons at our home pool last summer.
Elle's goal is to help young swimmers improve in swimming while
they are having fun! She believes Trails is rooted in working hard
without the pressure other teams may have and she would continue to
spread the positivity. Elle has become the swimmer she is today
through the coaching she has had throughout her life and recognizes
the importance of coaches in swimmer's passion and work ethic in
practice and at meets. She is looking forward to being involved in
the growth of Trails swimmers!
