Our coaches are here to support your needs. If your questions are related to workouts, meets, events, goal setting, and other swimming related needs, please contact one of the coaches. At the same time, it is important that we maximize the time our coaches can provide to all our Bluefin swimmers. The time our coaches have on-deck is too valuable to be diluted by non-coaching activities. We ask that all our parents respect this fact out of consideration for the needs of the whole team.

Meet the Coaches:
Coach Tijmen [email protected]
Tijmen started his career coaching in 2009 and has been a Bluefins coach since 2015. He is also currently head coach at Patriot Aquatics and Irvine High School. He has played water polo since he was 8 years old and competed in water polo and swimming at the collegiate level. He was captain of the swim team during his senior year at Concordia University Irvine where he received a bachelor's degree in sports management and a master's degree in coaching with emphasis on aquatics. Coach Tijmen believes ISL is a fantastic stepping stone for everybody that wants to learn how to become a competitive athlete in swimming and water polo. At Bluefins, his main goal is to get all swimmers excited about their improvement. Coach Tijmen says "it's not just important to love getting better, but working hard with your teammates" and "getting better together is what creates a great team." Coach Tijmen is proud of the development he sees every year at Bluefins and cannot wait to get started this summer!
