Carmen Carrion will be the Wahoo Head Coach this season. Coach
Carmen comes to us from Ga Tech where she received her BS and
MS. At Tech, Carmen played for the women's soccer
team and participated in triathlons. Carmen led the swim
lesson program at Tech for several years and more recently
opened The Atlanta Premiere Swim Academy, where countless
Wahoo have benefitted from her instruction. Carmen is pursing her Doctorate at Ga
State in Education Psychology. She hopes to inspire and
help children succeed in the world of academia.
Jelani Watkins is an Atlanta native and recent Master of Music graduate from Georgia State University. In 2011, he graduated from his undergraduate alma mater Morehouse College with a B.A. in Music. He was an age-group swimmer for several Atlanta clubs in his teens and competed for North Springs Charter High School state swim team for all four high school years. During his undergraduate matriculation at Morehouse College, Jelani coached for the Atlanta University Center Tigersharks Swim Team and has gained additional coaching experience as a previous Head Coach of the Spalding Woods Swim Club Summer League team and the last two seasons as a Wahoo Assistant Coach. Currently, he serves as an Assistant Coach for the Dekalb Aquatic Swim Team in Decatur, Georgia.
Andrea Kunze is a recent graduate from Georgia State University where she received a degree in Human Learning and Development. During her undergrad she served as an assistant cross-country coach at The Epstein School, and volunteered at The Shepherd Center working as a locomotive trainer assistant. She was a club swimmer at Coastal Aquatic Club in Myrtle Beach, SC for a number of years, but ran Track and Cross-country through high school. Andrea will be attending NC State University for her masters in Educational Psychology.
