Meet the CAT Coaches

The Coaches' main areas of responsibility lie within the realm of the pool itself. We try to provide a fun yet challenging environment for all swimmers of all levels; with a focus on stroke mechanics and technique work for younger athletes, transitioning into a more rigorous aerobic and conditioning focus as the athletes progress through our team. We also handle meet registration, swimmer registration, and goal setting; if you have any questions about those areas, please do not hesitate to talk to us. All other questions regarding fees, policies, and other administrative questions may be directed to one of our esteemed board members.

Caylin Scott Hirapara

Lead Juniors Coach

Email

Caylin Hirapara was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. At age eight, she began swimming year-round at North Florida Swimming for nine years until her family moved to Boca Raton. She then swam for Boca Raton High School and was a High School State Finalist in Florida three years in a row in both the 50 freestyle and the diving event. Through it all, Caylin’s mother homeschooled both her and her younger brother from 5th grade through high school graduation, allowing her the time to be dedicated to two sports. While Caylin’s family lived in Jacksonville, her mother was the head coach of summer league team with over 200 swimmers. Caylin was involved in helping her mother from a young age and became experienced enough to lead the coaching for the 7-11 age group level when she entered high school. Currently, Caylin is a senior at Clemson University, and she was a member of the Women’s Diving Team until the program was discontinued in 2017. She is pursuing a double major in English and Political Science and is applying to law school for the fall of 2018. Caylin also works part-time as an intern for Internal Communications in Clemson’s University Relations office.

Lindsey's family knew of her love of water from a very young age and she began swimming competitively with the Decatur Swim Club in Decatur, IL when she was seven years old. Her first experience coaching was with DSC while in high school, which is when she realized her love of teaching strokes and skills to young swimmers. After high school, Lindsey swam for the University of Illinois where she still holds a couple of top 10 records. Lindsey put her coaching ambitions on hold after getting married and moving frequently with the Army, but got back into it while living in Kansas in 2015. She most recently coached for the Manhattan (KS) Marlins Swim Team, Team Greenville, and Greenville Splash Masters before joining CAT in April 2018. Outside of swimming, Lindsey enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Ben, and two dogs, Dory and Daisy. She also loves reading, baking, and attempting DIY projects around the house.
