Amanda Diane Clarke
Amanda began her coaching career as a middle school team
co-founder at North Hills Preparatory in 2010. NHP’s MS
team won the Metroplex MS Championship meet the second year of its
inception. In her 2nd year at NHP, she also
began coaching the HS team and did so for 3 years. She
remains a MS coach at NHP. During these early years, it
became apparent that coaching swimmers was her passion and so the
journey began! In addition to NHP, she was asked to join the
Hackberry Creek Country Club swim team in 2014 as an assistant
coach. She became head coach of this program mid
season. She remained at HCCC until the summer of 2017. Also
she was hired to be a part of the Greenhill School’s MS and
HS coaching staff in the fall of 2015 and continues to be a part of
that program. Facilitating the Swim and Bike Summer Camp
program at Greenhill will begin in the summer of 2017.
Amanda is excited to be coaching SELECT with her friend and
mentor, Sean Sell. As a swim mom to Mustang swimmer Sarah
Clarke, Amanda met Sean in 2012. She soon recognized Sean’s
coaching methodology as unique as Sarah excelled in the
sport. However Sarah’s enthusiasm waned when Sean moved
from the Mustangs to COPS. Resolute to swim for ‘her
coach’, Sarah followed Sean, moved teams and her love of the
sport reignited. Swimming for Sean, Sarah swam at multiple
Sectional meets, became a captain of her high school team and will
forever be proud to be a founding member of SELECT. As a
coach and a parent, Amanda recognized the positive influence Sean
had on her daughter and desired to emulate Sean’s style and
approach to competitive swimming. The stars aligned!
Soon Sean was in the position to hire an assistant for his new,
dynamic team and in 2016, a partnership was born!
Amanda is a former AAU swimmer, former captain of her HS team
and current Masters swimmer. She lives in North Dallas with
her husband Bryan, their youngest daughter Sarah and dog
Paco. When not on deck or in the pool, Amanda enjoys her big
family, friends, travel, hikes, music, chocolate, good food and
‘The SELECT team and Sean’s tutelage
positively influences all other programs I coach. The future
at SELECT is limitless. We have fun and we are FAST!’
