Coach Mike started his career in  Mountain  Lakes,  New Jersey, as the Head Coach of the Lakeland Hills YMCA.  In 1995, the Men’s team finished 2nd at YMCA Nationals.  Coach Mike  is an American Swim Coaches Association Level 5 Coach, having coached for 35 years producing New Jeresy High School Champions, CIF Champions, CIF record holders, Southern California Swimming Record holders, Junuior Olympic Champions,  numerous National Top 16 rankings, Junior National finalists, Y-National champions and Sr. National qualifiers. 
As the Assistant National Team coach at the Industry Hills Aquatics Club, Coach Mike had an opportunity to work with Olympic Trial Finalists,  Senior National Finalists, USA National Junior Team members, as well as, Junior National Champions.  Prior to coaching at Trident, he spent 3 successful years as the Age Group Select Coach at Brea Aquatics.  While there he developed swimmers who set 3 Southern California Records, achieved numerous National Age Group Rankings, won numerous Junior Olympic titles and established over 50  new team records.  October of 1999 was spent in Bahrain   as part of the FINA/IOC Olympic Solidarity Program to conduct  clinics for coaches and swimmers. Several trips were spent at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs as part of the National Select Camp Staff.  He has conducted ASCA Level 1 and Level 2 courses at the ASCA World Clinics and  has also conducted swimming clinics in the Philippines. 
Two years were also spent as volunteer assistant under Rob Orr at Princeton University.  Coach Mike earned a BA in Biology from the  University  of  Rhode Island  and his Masters degree in Kinesiology from   Long Beach State.  Currently teaching high school biology in the  Rowland Unified School District. Coach Mike is also the Head Coach for both the Rowland Girls Water polo and Swim Teams.  At Rowland his Teams have won 3 CIF Championships in swimming.  For his efforts in education he was awarded a Fulbright Scholarship studying in both Mexico and  Canada in the summer of 2004.

Ian Legarda

Coach Ian, was a former ASEAN Age Group Games competitor from the Philippines .   In 1996, Ian trained in Shanghai , China at the Chinese National Training Center of Sport.  In 1997, he moved to the US to train with Industry Hills Aquatic Club while attending Mt. San Antonio College.   While at Mount San Antonio College he set school records in the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke.  He also earned All American Honors for the 100, 200 yard breaststroke as well as the 200 IM.  Coach Ian is a graduate of Cal State Long Beach.  He was also the 2000 Walnut High school JV boys coach and the Varsity boys/girls assistant coach. In 2018 Coach Ian was selected "Age Group Coach of the Year" by his peers.  Coach Ian is part of a coaching staff that is multi-lingual speaking both Spanish and Tagalog. As a member of the Rowland High School staff he has been instrumental in helping the team  to garner 7  Valle Vista League Titles and 3 CIF Southern Section Titles.
 
 
 

Joey Clements

Coach Joey is a 2006 graduate of Arizona State University where he competed for the ASU swim team.  While at ASU Joey was a finalist at the Pac -10 Championships, as well as, a 2004 & 2008 Olympic Trials Qualifier.  In Preparation for the 2004 trials in Long Beach , Coach Joey trained with Coach Bob Bowman at North Baltimore Aquatic Club along side Michael Phelps.   He grew up training  at the Industry Hills Aquatic Club, where he was a USA Senior National Championship finalist, as well as, Junior National finalist in his specialty the breaststroke.  Coach Joey was also CIF Champion for Rowland High School in 2001 in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke. 






 

 

Eva Wang

Coach Eva primarily works with the Junior Group.  She was a 2008 and 2012 Chinese Olympian in water polo.  She was a memeber of the Womens Olympic Water Polo Teams that finished 5th in the 2012 games.  Her background began in swimming, until she was recruited to play water polo. Coach Eva currently coaches both swim and water polo at Rowland High School.
