Head Coach and Program Director
Coach Webber is in his seventh year as the Head Coach and Program Director of HSA. He has previously served as a coach at both the Birmingham Swim League and the Greater Chattanooga Aquatic Club (now Baylor Swim Club). Over the course of his 18 year coaching career, he has coached swimmers at the highest level of the sport, including Olympic Trial, National, and Junior National qualifiers. He has also coached numerous Southeastern and High School State champions.
Coach Webber has also served the sport of swimming through various means. He has served as the General Chairman of Southeastern Swimming, the Age Group Vice Chairman of Southeastern Swimming, and as the Finance Chair. He has coached seven Southeastern Swimming All-Star Teams, serving two of those years as the Head Coach. He has also coached at the Southern Zone Select Camp, and the NCSA All-Star Camp.
Family - Coach Webber is a graduate of Clemson Universtiy. He is married to Jenell Webber and they have two daughters.

Ben J Davis
Head Age Group Coach
Coach Ben is in his first year with HSA. Ben served as the
Head Coach of the 1996 Turkish Olympic Team. He is an ASCA
level 5 coach and has been coaching for 38 years. He comes to
HSA from Memphis Tiger Swimming where he was the Head Coach and COO
for 3 years. Ben has previously coached in High Point, NC,
Tualatin Hills Swim Club in Beaverton, Oregon, Birmingham Swim
League and Wildcat Aquatics in Lexington, Kentucky.
Coach Ben has also been an assistant coach at the University of
Alabama under the legendary Swim Coach Don Gambril and the
University of Kentucky. Ben has coached swimmers of all
levels including 2 Olympians, Olympic Trial qualifiers, National
and Junior National level swimmers. Plus, many USA Swimming
National Team members.
Coach Ben has also served swimming through involvement at the
LSC and National level. He has served as General Chairman,
Technical Planning Chairman, Finance Chairman, Rules and Regulation
Chairman and many other positions.
Lori Daniel is excited to be a part of the Huntsville Swim
Association team. Lori and her husband Brent, have two HSA
swimmers, Bella & Caroline Daniel. Having been an HSA
parent for the past four years, she is aware of some of the
questions parents may have, specifically new parents. Look
for Lori around the pool if you have any questions or send her an
email and she will be happy to help you.
Coach Pate brings over 30 years of coaching experience to our Masters Team and was recently selected for Induction into the Southeastern Swimming Hall of Fame. Brooke served as HSA's head coach until the summer of 2010, when he retired from the Head Coach position. As a Senior coach, Brooke was the 1983 and 1992 Southeastern Swimming Senior Coach of the Year. During his tenure, he also coached numerours Olympic Trial, Senior National, and Junior National qualifiers. Among that group of swimmers were several National Age Group Record Holders and an American Record Holder.
Coach Pate is also an expert bicycle mechanic, and is an avid rider himself. His knowledge of both the swimming and biking world make him an ideal coach to work with both the competitive Masters swimmers, as well as the competitive triathletes that use Masters for swim training.
Cole Austin Jolley
Sr. Assistant & Senior Development Coach
Coach Cole is in his 4th year with HSA. He will be working as the Senior assistant with Junior and Senior group and also as the lead coach for the Senior Development group. Cole has been working and coaching with swim teams since the age of 15. He was the assistant head coach at Vestavia Country Club from 2008 -2013 and Head Coach in 2014. He is a graduate of Auburn University, with a degree in Sociology. Cole's perspective and swimming back ground will be a great addition to the HSA staff and has Coach Matt excited about the positive effect it will have with the HSA athletes.
Swimming: Cole joined the Birmingham Swim League swim team where he swam for Coach Brian Wrighton. HSA Head Coach Matt Webber also coached Cole while at BSL. Cole swam throughout high school with BSL and Homewood High School. At Homewood he was a 4 year Varsity letter winner, qualifying for state all 4 years. He was voted team Captain his senior year and was the team MVP. Cole went>

Red 2 & White Group Coach
Coach Arthur has been with the HSA coaching staff since 2013. He arrived in Huntsville after serving in the Peace Corps, teaching English to children in Ukraine. Coach Arthur was Head Coach at Evander Childs High School, where he was named Evander Childs Coach of the Year and led the team to their best record in 15 years. He also coached at Three Village Swim Club in East Setauket, NY, where he was the lead Novice group coach for three years.
Family: Coach Arthur lives in Huntsville with his wife Krystle, son Cillian and their dog Bronxy.

Red 1 & White Group Coach
Coach Sue is starting her 3rd year with HSA, and is the lead Red I group coach as well as assisting with White group. Prior to joining HSA coaching staff she was the 12 & under Head Age Group Coach with the Blue Dolphin Swim Team in Oviedio, Florida. Coach Sue brings incerdible enthusiasm and experience to the HSA staff. Sue worked as the Head Coach of both Thomasville YMCA, Hagerty High School and was also a member of the coaching staff at Area Tallahassee Aquatic Club. Coach Sue's swimmers in Florida were FLAGS Champions (Florida Age Group), Florida All Star qualifiers, Florida High School State Champions and Runner Ups and achieved Top 10 USA swimming rankings.
Swimming and Hobbies: Coach Sue grew up swimming in St. Peterburg, Florida. She was a member of the Florida State Women's Varsity Swimming team from 1980-1982. Sue trains and competes in MultiSport events and is an avid cyclist and member of Advanced Cycles - Cycling team in Orlando, Florida.
Family: Coach Sue is a native of St. Peterburg, Florida. She and her husband David Butcher live in Owens Cross Roads, Alabama. Sue's has two sons, Cole who swam for Florida State and competed in the 2016 Olympic Trials, and Noah who will begin his Junior year swimming for NC State Wolfpack.

White Group & Junior Development 2 Coach
Coach Jan brings her passion and knowledge of swimming to the HSA coaching staff
after moving to Alabama from Boulder City, Nevada to be near family. Coach Jan
spent over 20 years with the Boulder City – Henderson Swim Team in Nevada, as
well as a year with Madison Swim Association as an age group coach. She brings her
coaching experience to all age groups and levels. Her main focus is developing
young swimmers to reach beyond their expectations. Coach Jan’s swimmers have
been State and Junior Olympic champions, USA top ten, and competed at Jr. National
and Nationals. Two of her former swimmers and her son competed at 2016
Coach Jan grew up in New Mexico and was a state champion basketball, volleyball,
and tennis player. She is a graduate of West Texas State A & M University with a
degree in communication graphics and marketing, and worked as a graphic designer
before coaching. Coach Jan started swimming at the master’s level and believes this
has contributed to her enthusiasm and dedication to the sport both as a swimmer
and USA Swimming Coach. She enjoys yoga, gardening, art and design.
Family – Coach Jan and her husband Blake Bunch live in Madison. Her daughter Blakeley Bunch is an Auburn University graduate. Blakeley is a four- year AU athlete in swimming and competed in the 2008 USA Olympic Trials. She has a son Zander, who is Jan’s only grandchild. Dylan Bunch is her son who is a graduate of The University of Denver in Denver, Colorado, where he lives and works. He swam at the NCAA championships throughout his collegiate career, and competed in USA Olympic Trials 2012 and 2016.
Coach Jan has enjoyed watching her children swim and looks forward to her HSA
swimmers’ success in and out of the pool.
Intro to HSA Lead Coach
Coach Susan is in her 3rd year with HSA as coach of the Intro to HSA group. She has been involved with swim coaching for over 30 years including the last 14 years in Huntsville. Coach Susan is a Special Education teacher at the Whitesburg Pre K- 8th grade school in Huntsville and also coaches for Huntsville High School. She helped lead the Crimson Panthers Boys to Back to Back State titles in 2012-2013 and Girls to back to back top 5 state finishes respectively. Susan also coaches with the Blossomwood summer swim team. She is a graduate of Rhodes College in Memphis Tennessee, and has a Masters degree in Therapeutic Recreation from the University of South Alabama. Coach Matt feels that HSA is very fortunate to have Susan as a member of the staff. Her experience as a swimmer and commitment to teaching children is a perfect fit with the HSA staff and team goals.
Swimming: Susan began swimming in Mobile at age 5 with Spring Hill Swim Club, continuing through high school with City of Mobile Swim Association and McGill Toolen Catholic High School.
Family: Susan lives in Huntsville with her husband Scott (former Valley Hill CC swimming legend) and their children Sally and Joe. Sally will be a freshman at Auburn University this fall, and Joe "Snow Angel" Swing will be a Sophomore at Huntsville High.
Hannah Grace Busk-Hobbs
Red 1 Coach
Coach Hannah works with the Intro to HSA group and Red I Groups. Coach Matt is excited about Hannah returning to the team along with the experience and energy she brings to the pool.
Hannah returns to Huntsville after record setting performances as a member of the Birmingham Southern College swim team. Hannah was SAA Newcomer of the Year 2013, Southern Athletic Association Swimmer of the Year 2013 & 2014, and First-Team All-Conference 2013 & 2014. She won SAA titles in the 200 IM & 200 back in 2013, repeating in 2014 and setting SAA records in the 200 IM, 100 Fly, & 200 Back. Hannah holds school and conference records in 200 IM, 100 fly, 200 back. and the BSC school record in the 100 back. She was Swimmer of the meet at SAA championship 2013 and 2014. She was named BSC Female Newcomer of the Year and named to Collegiate Swimming Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-American team, and SAA Academic Honor Roll.
Swimming: Hannah was a four-year letterwinner at Grissom High School. Hannah was named to the Hunstville Times Elite Team 2008-11, and Huntsville Times Female Swimmer of the Year 2008, 2009, 2011, and was honored as a Southeastern Swimming Hall of Fame member in 2008. Coach Hannah is the Head Coach of the Lily Flagg Swim team and Huntsville High Swim Team.
FAMILY: Hannah is married to Luke Hobbs and is the daughter of Philip and Sherri Busk, she has five siblings: Sarah, Cameron, Jonathan, Olivia, and Mia. Congratulations Hannah and welcome home!

Intro to HSA Coach
Coach Rachel: Beginning her second year as coach of the Intro to HSA group. Rachel has been a coach with the Blossomwood Barracuda summer swim team for the past 15 years and has coached with swim teams for over 30 years. Rachel is a 1998 Huntsville High graduate and earned her master’s degree in special education from Auburn University in 2003. She has a behavioral analyst certification and is also employed at the Riley Behavioral and Education Center, a private school for children with autism.
Coach Matt had this to say, “I cannot say enough about Rachel and Coach Susan and the role they have played in the development and growth of the Intro swimmers and also in the overall growth of HSA. The foundation that they are establishing will ensure the continued growth and success of the HSA team well into the future.”
Swimming and Multi Sport: HSA is fortunate to have someone with the talent and experience that Rachel brings as a coach, but is also very proud that Rachel is also HSA swimming Alumni! Rachel began swimming as a child for the Randolph Summer league team, later with Huntsville High and HSA. Rachel is an avid runner and Triathlete. Rachel loves running so much that her favorite quote is "I would rather carry the kids>
Family: Rachel lives in Huntsville with her husband Patrick Clark (HSA Alumni and Rocket City Record Holder) along with their children Will(HSA), Lily(HSA) and Eli(Soon to be HSA). Rachel and family are Red, White, Blue and HSA through and through!
Blakeley Jane Bunch
Coach Blakeley is beginning her first season with HSA as an assistant coach. She has been living in the Huntsville/Madison area since 2011 and spent a few years coaching with MSA and the Madison Dolphins Swim League before becoming a stay at home mom. Coach Blakeley also formerly coached for Boulder City – Henderson Heatwave Swim Team in Southern Nevada. She assisted in a Runner-up State Championship title, with 37 individual and 7 relay first place in finishes in 2010-2011. Coach Blakeley’s first experience coaching was while she was at Auburn University. She realized how much she enjoyed coaching while assisting with the Auburn Swim Camps in 2007, 2008 and 2009.
Swimming: Coach Blakeley graduated with her bachelor’s of science degree from Auburn University in International Business. She swam all four years, was apart of two NCAA Championship Teams (2006, 2007) and two SEC Championship Teams (2007, 2008). Coach Blakeley also qualified for the Olympic Trials in 2008 where she swam the 400 IM and 200 Back. She attended Boulder City High School and swam with the Boulder City Henderson Heatwave Swim Team under Coach Mike Polk. During high school she was the 2003 Las Vegas Review Journal High School Swimmer of the Year, 2004 Nevada High School 500 free champion, California/Nevada Sectional Champion in the 200 back and 400 IM, 2005 Regional Swimmer of the year, 2005 Boulder City High School Swimmer of the year, swimmer for the Nevada State 1st Place Team 5 years, High School All American multiple times and apart of the USA Swimming All America Academic Team.
Family: Coach Blakeley was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico to her parents Blake and Jan Bunch. She grew up in Boulder City, Nevada with her younger brother Dylan. Her greatest accomplishment is her son Zander Fleming. She loves music and plays the cello.
