Brett R Hoehn
Coach Brett has been involved in swimming for about 40 years. He started age group swimming at age four. He comes from a family of swimmers where his oldest sister competed in swimming and moved into water ballet. His next sister swam as an age grouper, high school and in college. Lastly, his brother did the same going from age group swimming, high school swimming and progressed into college swimming. Brett swam age group and also swam high school and then moved into Masters swimming.
He earned his degrees at West Virginia Institute of Technology where they did not have a swim team. While there studying Chemical Engineering, many of his classes focused on fluid dynamics and fluid flow which he applies toward swimming and biomechanics.
He has coached swimmers from beginners through many Southeastern Championship qualifiers and on to Senior Sectionals. He has also instructed technique and biomechanics to elite level swimmers. Additionally, he coaches the Riverdale High School Swim Team where he has had multiple undefeated seasons and most years has swimmers who are in the top 16 at the Tennessee High School State Meet.
Aside from swimming, Brett likes to go white water kayaking, remote wilderness backpacking, camping, computers and playing the guitar. He does all of these items in his spare time when not working his full time job and coaching.
