Coaching Staff


Coach Ben has been an avid swimmer since he was 7 yrs old. Throughout his childhood he started competitive swimming when he lived overseas; swimming at the Singapore American School and at the International School of Manila. When he moved from overseas at the age of 14, he continued swimming with the Deercreek Tiger Sharks and the Mandarin High School Mustangs. During this time, he also worked at Adventure Landing as the Head Supervisor for the water park Lifeguard Staff.

Coach Ben is a graduate of The Florida State University. He majored in Social Sciences and minored in Psychology. Throughout college, Coach Ben was an FSU Lifeguard, working at the Seminole’s Swimming & Diving facility and FSU Reservation.

Coach Ben is an ESE Teacher at Atlantic Coast High School, working with Students with Autism. He is also the Head Coach for the Swimming & Diving as well as the Boys Lacrosse Team. He is married to Nicole, who is a 4th Grade Cambridge Teacher at Duval Chater Mandarin. They  have 7 year old named Adelyn and 4 year old named Jensen

This will be Coach Ben’s 10th season with the Barracudas and he is looking forward to continuing his coaching experience with the community of Bartram Springs.

Krista Carpenedo

Assistant Coach


Coach Krista comes to Bartram Springs with many years of coaching and swimming experience.  She started swimming at age 5 and swam competitively every summer up until the time she graduated from high school. She spent her summers growing up working as a lifeguard and teaching swim lessons. She also worked for 6 summers in Virginia as a Pool Manager. She was the head coach of a summer swim team in Virginia for 2 seasons.  She was also an assistant high school swim team coach in Erie, PA for both their women and men's teams. Her favorite strokes are Butterfly and Freestyle.  Along with swimming she has many years of coaching experience in Volleyball and Basketball.  She lives in Bartram Springs with her family and is looking forward to a great summer.
