Since its inception, Coach Julia has been the Head Assistant Coach overseeing the age group portion of the program while instructing the Pre-Senior and Age Group Advanced Program. Prior to establishing FAST, Julia coached the recreational swim team the Folsom Tigersharks. She was one of the first coaches with program when it started, and coached all age groups from 6 and under to the older senior swimmers. She also coached USA swimming for her former team, Oak Ridge High School Waterpolo, and numerous swim lessons.

Since 2013, Julia has coached Sierra Nevada Record breakers, Far Western qualifiers, Junior Olympic Age Group High Point winners, runner ups, and record breakers.

As an athlete, Coach Julia grew up swimming for Central Valley Aquatics in Sierra Nevada Swimming. Julia swam for over 10 years as a sole year round swimmer. She competed for Modesto High School and always qualified and placed in the top 8 in high school sections. She varsity lettered all 4 years in swimming and all 4 years in waterpolo. Julia then pursued her education through Sacramento State and received her degree in Liberal Studies along with two teaching credentials in K-8 education and Preliminary Sciences.

Coach Julia's goal is to help all swimmers achieve their best, reach their goals, and provide a safe fun environment for swimmers of all ages and abilities

Andrew Hays

Age Group Coach - Folsom

Andrew began his coaching career seven years ago with the Folsom Sea Otters. He then spent four years as an assistant coach for the Folsom TigerSharks, while spending his off-season coaching the USA FAST swim team. Andrew then pursued a full-time coaching position with FAST which led him to LifeTime Roseville.

As an athlete, Andrew began swimming at the age of 5 and continued with the Folsom Sea Otters until he was 17 years old. He still holds a total of 4 records, 3 team records and 1 league record. For his final year of swimming, Andrew moved to the Folsom TigerSharks before unfortunately retiring from swim due to Motocross injuries.

Andrew considers himself a huge student of the sport of swimming and has always had a passion for coaching. His goal is to embrace his new role as Age Group Coach and share his knowledge and passion with LifeTime's young swimmers. Andrew says, "In life there is no 'win or lose,' but rather 'win or learn.' These are the lessons and tools I strive to be able to teach my swimmers on a daily basis, while providing a fun and safe environment for everyone."
