Head Coach - Phone: 870-335-0523
Well it all started when I was about 5 years old. My mom signed my older brother and myself up for the Greene County Swim Team. We instantly fell in love with the whole setup. Being on the swim team is like joining a huge family; everyone helping out and cheering each other on. It’s been a great experience. When my little brother came along, we put him into lessons and he was on the team in no time.
Swimming is a sport for the whole family. It was great to all be in one sport and watch each other participate instead of being split up to go play different sports. I have made so many friends thanks to swimming and have had the opportunity to travel around for meets.
I swam up until I was 18, which included swimming on the high school team. When I finished my last year on the team, the head coach was resigning and Stephanie was taking that spot. That left the assistant coach spot open. I talked it over with Stephanie and the board and next thing you know I was the assistant coach.
I can honestly say that I have no idea what else I would be doing if I didn’t have swimming in my life. I have had the pleasure of being assistant coach to the Greene County Gators for 3 years now. I am constantly learning new things about the kiddos and different coaching techniques. It really has been a great experience for me as an athlete and as a coach. I’ve had the opportunity of going to coaching clinics and discussing coaching tips with coaches all around. Swimming has been life-changing for me. Most people say love what you do and you won’t work a day in your life. Well I found that here. Seeing these kids grow and really dedicate themselves to swimming is the best thing to witness. Swimming is my life!
