We are here to support the community of swimming in eastern Idaho. Please don't hesitate to contact one of our professional certified swim coaches with any questions you may have with regards to the team, practice, swim meets, or something specific about your swimmer.

"A good coach takes his love for the sport and instills it in you. He molds you into the athlete he sees inside of you and watches your talent and dedication grow into a skill that you both can be proud of. His payoff is in the smile he sees on your face after you have reached your goal. His drive are the tears you cry because you want it so bad, knowing that he had the same feeling inside him too. Make him proud and never give less than your best. You both deserve it."

Christine grew up in northern Virginia and joined her first swim team at age 5. Christine spent every summer competing in the largest (15,000+ swimmers) summer league in the country, where she still holds every team breaststroke record in every age group, and several league records. Christine was league champion multiple times, and when not competing or training, she coached age-group swimmers and taught swim lessons.

Growing up Christine trained with several USA swim clubs and was a nationally ranked age-group swimmer. During high school and college she trained at one of the premier clubs in the nation, Curl-Burke Swim Club-now NCAP. Christine qualified for Junior Nationals in multiple events and went on to swim at Division I Brigham Young University for four years on an athletic scholarship. While at BYU Christine was a USA National Championships qualifier in the 100 breaststroke and was Academic All-Conference all four years. After earning a degree in Chemical Engineering, Christine went to work for Intel Corporation where she was a process engineer for 11 years in Portland, Oregon before moving to Idaho Falls.

Christine continues to enjoy swimming with the local Masters team. She has three children on the Voltage Aquatic Team. This is her fifth year coaching for VOLT.

Erica Ray

Erica started swimming when she was 5 years old and took to the water like a fish. Unfortunately her parents did not have the means to put her in a year round swim team. Erica has always loved the water and enjoys sharing her love for the water with others. Erica's high school did have a swim team which she swam on for 3 out of 4 years. Erica became a lifeguard/swim instructor when she was 16 and continued thru college.  Her first group of kids were 3 year olds and they all seemed to hate the water, but after six weeks she had them jumping into the pool and loving the water.  Another lifeguard (with 5 years of experience at the time) told Erica she was a natural after seeing what she did with her first group of kids.

For Erica swimming is a part of life.  It is fun, but also an essential skill to have in life.

Erica graduated from Montana Tech with a B.S. in Occupational Safety and Health with a minor in Chemistry.  In 2004, Erica moved to Idaho Falls to work at the INL as an Industrial Hygienist.  She was laid off in January of 2012. Her husband told her to find a hobby, so in July of 2013 Erica started volunteering with the Voltage Aquatics Team.

Heidi Roth

Heidi grew up while her dad was in the army and got to live in many different places. Having Heidi learn to swim was always a priority for her parents and everywhere they went they tried to put her into swimming lessons. However she didn't make much progress until her parents found a year round program when she was 11 years old.

Heidi started teaching children to swim when she was 14 years old as a volunteer at a local city pool. Heidi started working as a lifeguard and swimming instructor when she was 16 years old. Heidi used lifeguarding and swimming teaching as a way to help pay for the first couple of years of college. Heidi graduated from Boise State University with a degree in Mechanical Engineering in 2001. She is the mother of six amazing children all of which are either on the Voltage Aquatic Team.
