Jake has been swimming since the age of 5, beginning with the Martinez Community swim team, then with Pleasant Hill Dolfins where he was a county swimmer for three years in a row.  When he was 12 he made the move from recreational swimming to swim year round with the Terrapins, where he was a member of their national team.  Jake also swam for Acalanes High School, making it to NCS each year and earning a spot on the record board for the 100 back.  After a break from the pool, he starting swimming again for US Masters Swimming, and now regularly competes for Walnut Creek Masters.  Since getting back into the sport he has received the Pacific USMS Swimmer of the Year award, made it on the All American list for USMS, placed in the top three for backstroke events at USMS nationals two years in  row. When he isn’t swimming, he is working on developing recipes and exploring all things food related.  He has a big passion for the sport and enjoys the science and physics behind all things swimming related.
