Stephanie A Adams
For more than 30 years, I have been part of competitive swimming either in the pool, on the deck, or as a parent. I started competitive swimming at the age of five at a YMCA in Clearwater, FL. At age 10, I began to swim for the Clearwater Aquatic Team. I swam for Clearwater High School and swam state championship all four years. I have been a swim instructor for more than 15 years. I have coached on Nationally ranked teams, Summer teams, and Special Olympics groups. While in Germany, I coached in the European Forces Swim League and traveled all over the EU. I have been with the Summerville YMCA for four years. I started as the Masters swim team coach and assistant age group coach, to now being the Oakbrook Youth Sports Director and Head swim team coach. I am a certified level 2 USA Swim coach, Certified Lifeguard Instructor, and Certified YMCA Coach. I am passionate about swimming and believe in active coaching, giving direction and complementing effort regardless of level. In addition to the fundamentals of the sport, I value a healthy atmosphere of inspiring young athletes to reach their potential while having fun and balance in their lives, both on the deck and off.
