Joseph A Pereira

Skyline High School Head Coach

Joe Pereira attended #1 USC to begin his swimming career. During the season he was hit by a car and missed the travel squad losing his varsity position. He transferred to Diablo Valley College where he won three JC State titles. He was recruited by Don Reddish to swim at the University of Utah where he finished his collegiate eligibility. Under Don Reddish he then became a men's assistant coach. After three years of assisting, the Women's Head Coach position opened at the University of Utah which he accepted and became High Country Conference coach of the year. He was recruited for the assistant coach position under Olympic coach Jack Nelson at the University of Miami for the 87/88 season.

He then moved back to Utah and coached the Cottonwood Heights Aquatic Team. After several successful seasons, Joe was offered a teaching and head coaching position at Cyprus High School. With Joe at the helm the men's team won three state titles and eight women's & men's second place finishes. After 13 years, he took the position at Skyline High and Eagles Aquatics Team where Skyline under his direction has won twenty High School State Championship titles and two Utah USA Swimming titles.

Emma C Brooks

Assistant Coach Juniors/Seniors

Emma started swimming and playing water polo when she was about 5 years old in Pennsylvania.   She followed her three older sisters in swimming for Skyline and was a contributing member of multiple state championship teams while placing in the 100 breastroke-- she was also a captain at Skyline.   She made waves in the pool playing water polo in high school and was on the all-state team all four years.   She was offered several opportunities to play division one water polo --she ended up playing her freshman year at Fresno State and was part of the team that finished third at the GCC championships.   As a coach Emma was on the staff at the Cottonwood club for the last three years including last year when they won the Country Club Championships for only the second time in over 60 years.   Emma is a great coach who loves working closely with swimmers to help and motivate them be the best they can be.
